I've been keeping a daily log in Google Docs for years, in the style of a lab notebook, entries for todos, and every task I am doing, with code snippets and papers I am analyzing.. Roam makes the experience much more wiki-like, as it is very easy to create pages. It isn't quite as scriptable yet, but the flow is very good. Just hit the / key and get to work.
