Amazing question. I usually have my phone turned off so I don't see notifications from Slack, NYT, iMessages, Whatsapp, the list goes on. I know on the most recent iOS updates there's now a 'Focus' function (Settings > Focus) so you can pick if you want just 'Do Not Disturb' or specific apps to be on, and others off, for 'Work' or 'Sleep'. Oddly both. I'm split between being a morning person and a night owl, just afternoons are not as great for me with creative work. For me it's either 9-12 in the morning or from 6-11pm.
