A question that never gets old. For me a tip that has helped is setting a 5 minute timer. I tell myself I'll just work on a task that I dread for 5 minutes, and that is it. A lot of times, I end up working way past the 5 minute mark. I think the issue for me is getting started on a task and getting over that initial anxiety hump.

Very good point, especially true if its an app that you don't particular enjoy on a regular basis. I am less bothered by a notification from an app I enjoy (ex: Instagram- though that is also tied to my relationships) than another app I downloaded and rarely use.

I've definitely struggled to stay motivated when working from home. Daily scrums through zoom every morning (with everyone's cameras on) have definitely helped me stay more on track. It also helps to occasionally leave the house to take a quick walk, just to lighten up your mood a bit!

What a great concept- I almost made an excel a few years ago after graduation to help me keep in touch with my college friends, but didn't go through with it because I knew it was a hassle. This is a much simpler and more efficient method. Thank you for this!

Great question! When I'm working from home, I'll usually take a short 5 min break to get some snacks and some water every hour or so. We recently just got back to the office, and I will usually take a 20 min break in the afternoon to go take a walk around the block. On Fridays my coworkers and I will take a 30min-1hour break to have coffee and chat, if our schedules allow it.

Love this question! I used to listen to a lot of Mac Ayres. I tend to stick to songs that I know well, that way I can zone in an out without getting too distracted. If I listen to anything unfamiliar I will just start paying attention to the music to get the lyrics lol.
Also, I've found that music from brain fm helps for focus when I am working.

My resolution for 2020 was to find a job and a community of people I enjoy. Thankfully, I got both!
Other things I am thankful for:
1. My family and friends
2. Living with other people to keep me company during quarantine
3. A WFH job
4. A chance to be more introspective and relax (and having it be socially acceptable to stay in bed for days)
5. Zoom. Oh where would we all be without zoom.
6....
How many resolutions did you achieve in 2020? And what are all the things you are thankful for?

I do like going to a cafe on some days to brighten up my mood a bit with a different atmosphere and a choice of drink at hand, but I think it would be tiring if I work from one full-time. I think the beauty of cafes comes from being able to go during special designated times :)
Would you like to work from a cafe full time?

I go back and forth between Google docs and the Notes app on my iPad, both work fine for me :) But if you have a pen, I know people always rave about goodnotes.
Do you use notetaking apps? Which one would you suggest and why? 🙏🏼
