Launchbar is excellent. Fast app launcher, but lets you do things like grab files from the desktop and perform actions on them, or transform text, or search websites, create calendar events, to-dos, etc. It's like Spotlight, but on steroids. Plus, it has a built-in clipboard history that you can search and do stuff with too.
