I'm a coder... so writing is something I would rarely do. I've started to write more. Post more. Comment more. Why did it make me better? I got to talk to customers, understand their needs, how they speak and words they use. How did I acquire it? writing every day.

A well designed App experience is generally superior than web - faster, better animations, device specific features. Overall long term retention of the user.

Currently, I'm seeing results from: 1/ Share as you build on twitter #buildingInpublic 2/ Post daily on the social network where your market hangout 3/ Direct traffic from 1 & 2 to your website with a blog containing cornerstone content. ​ Actual cost $0. Major cost: time This is offset by the rewards in direct feedback and communication with your target market.

The 4+1 pattern is what I use. However, I treat it as a 'flow-day Friday' where there are no meetings, notifications, etc or any comms! just pure focus and pump out whatever I did not achieve in the week due to distractions or interruptions. If everything I wanted to do is done, then that is a bonus day but usually I dig into making something anyway.
