Hi! 👋 My name is Colin, and what I've tried to do with Dropboard is to work the existing experience of hiring into something more accessible and breezy to use.
From talks I've had, no one seems to love their hiring software. Yet it's something every organization has to deal with.
And the candidate experience on most platforms is worse. A candidate's interaction with your hiring process is...

This is a great product idea! I can see a lot of good use cases for this and I think you're pricing is pretty sensible. Nice to see a free tier for this kind of product, but I could also see this working with just a free trial instead.
One small criticism: the "let's chat" box in the right is a little odd because it's a squished video fit into a 1:1 square. Because it's so visible it kind of...

I'm definitely very impressed with the quality of people in the images I'm generating. I love the UX and speed of the app. As with most AI so far though, I'm still a little frustrated at tweaking the prompt to get something simple corrected.
For instance, I tried creating an image of an influencer getting ready to record their video. I tried many times to get the AI to make sure the camera on...

I think $1K MRR is a critical milestone, do you?
Your first dollar is the most important moment in your startup’s journey.
Assuming it’s not your Mom (👋😘), it means someone bought into the promise of your product enough to lay down money for it. That’s further than most products get.
You now have permission to dive deeper.
The next most important milestone is $10k MRR. Assuming you have expenses in check, this is ramen-profitable for most...

Anything a (paying) customer brings to my attention starts with extra points right out of the gate when I consider feature development. These are people who already bought into my product's promise and likely reflect the desires of other customers.
I examine those ideas to see if they're bringing up something that's highly specific to them or not. If it just sounds like custom development...

My favorite personal story is from 2014 for a product I launched. Er, actually I didn't launch it, someone hunted me after seeing a post I made on Reddit.
I was freaking out a bit because my phone was blowing up with payments and notifications, and at the time, I was on vacation with my family. It was my first real success as an entrepreneur and led to many greater things. I'll never forget...

Lately I've used Product Hunt primarily as a way to engage with other makers. I've met co-founders here before and have gained some really good insights at times when I've felt stuck on my journey.
I've had mixed results with Product Hunt over the years for my own launches (some amazing and some pretty disappointing), but I've heard that they've made some changes recently so I'm excited to see...

Really good-looking product and great marketing covering it all. I'm curious with the public roadmap if you have a way to gate that only to customers? A public roadmap definitely has its benefits, but I could also see something exclusive for customers being even more valuable.

Cool app! This was really fun to try out. It created a presentation for one of my previous apps and came out in a pretty neat way. I wish I had a more real-world need to test it out with to see how useful it would be, because I wonder if it would do better if I prompted it with a little more information and egged it to be more persuasive.
Some minor feedback: the placeholder text on those...

Congrats on your launch. Great name! And I love your design. I think your showcasing of real-world use cases is really helpful. Curious why you launched without pricing? Is it just because you're kind of in "early access" mode?
One other thing I would personally need to know before becoming a customer is how locked in I would be to your platform. Not that I'd want to leave -- if the product...

@translateci1 Love this idea! My biggest question is around dynamic text. Does this work for a site where the server will do something and then update the page? From your video it seemed like it might only do a static check of the page. To me, handling dynamic page updates is the holy grail because developing sites for multiple languages is a HUGE pain.
It would be seriously sweet if you had a...

Are you seeing a dip in the #buildinpublic movement?
I was talking with some people the other day about my build-in-public journey and they mentioned that they've noticed a drop in people doing the build-in-public thing with their startups. They specifically were talking about podcasting, so maybe it's only happening there? Or not at all - maybe just an algorithm thing?
I personally haven't noticed a drop in interest, but I'm curious what others...

I think it depends a lot on the market you're in as far as if it will help you build trust with customers. I think in a lot of cases the people interested in your build-in-public journey may not be the same people that are buying your product.
There are definitely risks to building in public, but for me it's been pretty easy to side-step them. For instance, when I talk about feature...

I think it already looks pretty awesome, but here are some thoughts from a design perspective (I couldn't come up with anything conversion-wise because you're hitting all the high notes 🎸):
- A handful of your images (like this one) are showing as blurry on retina devices: you need a 2x size image to make it look clear
- The capital A in "Collect & Add" in the hero feels a little strange
-...
