As soon as it becomes a "marketing" initiative, most become unethical as -by nature- they try to increase revenue/growth. But there are excellent examples out there that really benefit the customer AND the business at the same time. Like relief programs for customers in financial trouble. This helps the customer and the business will keep a loyal customer.

If I started a product today, I would not worry about already solving "future" problems (like scale, potential customer support effort, what if someone steals the idea, etc). Just focus on testing the demand and talking to lots of people about the idea

I can highly recommend this course from Harvard Business Manager: https://online.hbs.edu/courses/management-essentials/
it is honestly not cheap, but it's super hands on while it goes very in depths. very good material to read. Great for new managers or a refresher on best practices.
I can also recommend just to read the Harvard Business Review: https://hbr.org/ - lots of free great articles.
Can anybody suggest a good course or reading material that made you a better leader?
