I'm the guy that created GuideGuide. I launched the first version for Photoshop back in 2010 when we were still shuttling web mockups around between PSD files. A lot has changed since then, but I'm still as unsatisfied as ever with the grid tools our design apps provide.

I'm the creator of GuideGuide. I first launched it in 2010 as the grid tool Photoshop never had and a solution to frustrations in my life as a designer, illustrator, and creative director. @jmcclaire mostly it's development of new supported apps, and stability improvements to the more recent ones, which depending on your workflow and feeling toward supporting software developers, might not be a good trade for you.
For the more mature plugins (PS/AI) there are a few features I have on the "nice to have" list for PS and AI should Adobe ever add APIs for them — like unique guide...

🖐 I'm the guy that makes GuideGuide. It is now available for Illustrator too :) I'd love to do a Sketch version, but since Sketch is a completely new platform and relatively undocumented regarding development of panel-style extensions, it's on my list of things to do someday hopefully probably maybe who knows.
