I think there is no direct answer to your question, better always depend on what you are looking to deliver etc. To help you better, here are issues with both:
- MFA kills user experience, user needs to enter password and then another OTP or push to complete verification
- SSO has single source failure issue, if in case credentials of source account is leaked
Which is better MFA or SSO?

- Decide MFA based on your user base
- If possible, keep multiple MFA options so that users can choose as per their convenience
- If using a vendor, make sure they follow security standards and provide up to date MFA options
- Educate users on need of MFA and how to use them (may be videos or support docs)
What are the best practices for multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

I would like to go without passwords, preferably Email Link
But then again, it depends on my audience, if email link or biometric is not that suitable for them, I would prefer keeping these two options
- Email Link
- Password with 2FA
SMS OTP - I will not prefer, as I have read it vulnerable as compared to other passwordless
Product builders, how would you like your users to login to your app? With or without passwords?

I do understand passwordless, and it is good to have for applications that I use.
If applications use password login, I end up resetting password 90% of times except my Google account - reset % for this is close to 30-50%. Mostly, it's always logged in my device.
But yes, I would prefer passwordless everytime over passwords
What do you think about passwordless authentication?

Mostly websites where is shop online offers login via OTP or Link, so I don't feel the need to keep password manager.
But I do use password manager at work, but none for online shopping
Do you shop online and use a password keeper? I'd love to talk!
