I've done a few, they are pretty research intensive. 1) Figure out who your customer/s are 2) What are the touch/access points of your service (what sort of funnel do you have) 3) Figure out what awareness level of customer you want to target 4) Based on the awareness level, figure out what messaging they need to be able to go to the next step.

Depends on the context? If you are cold emailing people it is a numbers game. Make sure your email is short enough for the person to read, and your CTA is easy for them to say yes to.
