From standpoint of CAE engineer and tech stack enthusiast, I tried many apps and SaaS, 2FA is a must have in my repertoire. Authy has been very helpful tool in making things easy to use.
Security: It offers a high level of security for 2FA tokens, as it encrypts them with a password that only you know. It also allows you to backup your tokens to the cloud, so you can access them from any device. Also supports biometric authentication, such as fingerprint for extra protection.
Overall, I would give Authy a 5-star rating for its security, compatibility, usability, and support. I think it’s a great app for anyone who wants to protect their online accounts from hackers and account takeovers.
I have been using it on iOS for years without any issues. The desktop version for Mac, on the other hand, is very basic and unsatisfying. I hope they can improve it!
UPDATE: In the end, I uninstalled it. The app never quite seamlessly fit into my Apple device workflow. So, as of today, I consider myself a dissatisfied former user, I'm afraid.
