Hi there Product Hunters! 🚀
In these times of globally distributed teams, it’s common to find yourself working with people in several different time zones. When it comes to scheduling meetings with your team, keeping track of everyone’s location and finding a suitable meeting time can quickly become a major operation.
Zonejam helps you find a suitable meeting time. It does so by allowing you to view each participant’s timezone side by side in one handy interface, then choose a number of potential times to share with the group for consideration.
This product is perfect for remote teams spread over multiple time zones. It also works well for virtual social events with globe-trotting 🌍 friend circles, or even family group calls with relatives.
We built Zonejam at Hivekind 🐝 We’re a remote-first software agency so we find ourselves doing this scheduling dance regularly. We decided to build Zonejam to solve a problem we had. Although there are many tools that let you compare timezones, we couldn’t find one that did the things we needed. Things like remembering the people we meet with regularly, or building a shortlist of potential meeting slots.
What we are looking for with this release is feedback. Our goal is to create a simple, micro-focused tool that people can quickly go to to get a meeting on the calendar.
Does Zonejam help you do that? We’d like to know 😊
Looks good, and doesn't even save data outside of my browser so that's plus points for privacy. Would like to have the ability to have sets or groups of people and switch between them (I work with multiple teams and having all of them in one row can be confusing)
Congratulations on the launch of ZoneJam! I'm sure it will be a great asset to any group trying to coordinate a meeting. What was the biggest challenge in creating the product?
@rana_phool Dealing with timezones :D (more specifically, dealing with the "human" aspect and tying them together with the "technical" aspect of timezones.
For example, "Mountain Time" is not an official timezone according to IANA but we would have to support it because it is easier for humans to recognize. Or states with just one timezone (e.g. Montana) but states are not a timezone entity, so there needs to be some kind of mapping there.
Congrats on the launch! 🥳 This is excellent for teams working remotely. I think more and more companies will start hiring globally so this can definitely be a huge help for them.
Wow, ZoneJam sounds like a game-changer for global teams! Love how it simplifies scheduling across time zones and it's great to hear it's completely free and ad-free. Businesses should definitely try this
@shushant_lakhyani Not just completely ad-free but completely privacy focused too. It runs solely on your browser and has no server-side components (aside from hosting the initial download of the application) and does not "call home" to send any kind of personally identifiable information.
@sarah_moktar I would have killed for this three years ago when I was managed / coordinating with teams in India, Sydney, Singapore, London and the US all at once. This looks pretty slick!
Super simple and easy to use! I like how you can even select a specific city. Would like to have the ability for the optimal time to be highlighted more visibly.
Congrats on the launch!
I want to pass this on to my team and maybe we can find a way to integrate it. Our meeting timing with a global team are so hectic :D
Hopefully we can solve some issues with this. It looks really good.
