@fritzly Can you describe the pricing clearer? Unsure what a "video space" is, thanks!
@jeffbajayo Yes! A video space has it's own configuration, theme and embed code. Within each space you can have infinite number of rooms using our scheduled events or dynamic rooms. Schedule means you create them ahead of time and dynamic means you can programmatically create them on the fly. Every call within a video chat space will have the same settings and look/feel. You typically only need one space per use case.
@fritzly Thanks! Do you guys have any plans to release any web chat features as well?
@jeffbajayo Our plan is to stick with integrations to website chat rather than re-build that. We would rather the video chat experience take place in your website/app context than a text chat widget as well. We are planning a book a chat feature.
They did what Zoom should have done: allowed us to turn a URL into our phone number.
@andrewwarner Thanks for connecting the dots. We have had a few customers use Zipcan for a personal calling page. For example, I used our integration with Hubspot meetings to allow people to schedule, then I have Zipcan embedded on this page: https://www.zipcan.com/fritz (as the host I need to let you into the room, but you can get the idea for how it works)
Been a fan since the beta, but I realise I've not asked: what's been the most surprising use you've seen of Zipcan so far? And of course, congrats on the launch @fritzly!
@davedri Good question. DispatchJustice.com has created help on demand for the most high pressure situations. During a routine traffic stop that you never want to escalate to anything more, consumers can open Dispatch Justice and start a video call. This immediately starts recording and notifies a lawyer to join. DJ uses Zipcan dynamic rooms to create a private call for each client to lawyer connection.
Zipcan will allow a lot of innovative product thinkers to put real-time video in the context of their current experience, this at a time where in context video quickly becoming an expectation and not an option!
I'm excited for Zipcan annnd what all the other creative people here will do with zipcan!

Congrats on the launch! So can you put an ephemeral video chat or are these supposed to stay available for a long time on your website?
@rubenwolff Zipcan is rather flexible based on the settings. It can be ephemeral based on access to the chat entirely or specific rooms. Or you can have rooms persist and be recorded. Check out this blog post for details on configuration options: https://blog.zipcan.com/zipcan-c...

What is Zipcan? Using only an embed code, any website or web product can add customized video chat to existing experiences.
How does it work? 🔨 Zipcan provides a simple admin to configure a video chat space with settings and a custom theme. Our embed options work with almost any website or web app, but we have provided step-by-step integration instructions for Hubspot CMS. Hubspot Meetings, Squarespace, Shopify, and Calendly.
Who built it? @spenser_lea and @fritzly. Spenser and I previously worked closely together at Brandlive (www.brandlive.com), where Fritz was the co-founder and CEO, and Spenser was the Director of Product Design.

I installed the beta for my wife’s health coaching business and it’s been great so far. Plugged into squarespace easily, which is a good thing cause I’m not a dev. Looking forward to the new features.

Love what @fritzly and the team have done with Zipcan. So many sites — e-commerce, coaching businesses, etc. — need on-site video chat.
@repreneur You can choose based on the settings and where you embed if users can call each other. We have a setting called "user hosted chats" which means that everyone that starts a room will be unique to them and they can invite others in. We also have a feature called Dynamic Rooms where you can create a room on the fly for users within your product. Awesome product! It'd be great if could integrate Akkadu Multilingual SDK allowing users to host multilingual meetings with Professional Interpreters
