Zipcan is a no-code option that makes video chat configurable, embeddable and scalable. Surface real-time video chat wherever needed inside a product or website. Our customers pick Zipcan because it’s more integrated than Zoom & faster than video API’s.

So psyched that this product is finally out in the wild! Signed, a happy beta user. (Nice work @fritzly and crew!)
Fritz Brumder
@turoczy Thanks Rick. Your stories really help us get a sense for the broader POV on our product. So thanks for taking the time to write your pithy and witty commentary on your blog.
Jeff Bajayo
@fritzly Can you describe the pricing clearer? Unsure what a "video space" is, thanks!
Fritz Brumder
@jeffbajayo Yes! A video space has it's own configuration, theme and embed code. Within each space you can have infinite number of rooms using our scheduled events or dynamic rooms. Schedule means you create them ahead of time and dynamic means you can programmatically create them on the fly. Every call within a video chat space will have the same settings and look/feel. You typically only need one space per use case.
Jeff Bajayo
@fritzly Thanks! Do you guys have any plans to release any web chat features as well?
Fritz Brumder
@jeffbajayo Our plan is to stick with integrations to website chat rather than re-build that. We would rather the video chat experience take place in your website/app context than a text chat widget as well. We are planning a book a chat feature.

They did what Zoom should have done: allowed us to turn a URL into our phone number.
Fritz Brumder
@andrewwarner Thanks for connecting the dots. We have had a few customers use Zipcan for a personal calling page. For example, I used our integration with Hubspot meetings to allow people to schedule, then I have Zipcan embedded on this page: https://www.zipcan.com/fritz (as the host I need to let you into the room, but you can get the idea for how it works)

Been a fan since the beta, but I realise I've not asked: what's been the most surprising use you've seen of Zipcan so far? And of course, congrats on the launch @fritzly!
Fritz Brumder
@davedri Good question. DispatchJustice.com has created help on demand for the most high pressure situations. During a routine traffic stop that you never want to escalate to anything more, consumers can open Dispatch Justice and start a video call. This immediately starts recording and notifies a lawyer to join. DJ uses Zipcan dynamic rooms to create a private call for each client to lawyer connection.

Zipcan will allow a lot of innovative product thinkers to put real-time video in the context of their current experience, this at a time where in context video quickly becoming an expectation and not an option! I'm excited for Zipcan annnd what all the other creative people here will do with zipcan!
Fritz Brumder
@ron_sparks You got the trend right Ron! It's so fun to make a tool that allows others to extend it in ways we never thought of.
Kirby Winfield
Slick, lightweight, timely. Gonna try it on my squarespace site.
Fritz Brumder
@kirbywinfield You have a great eye. We look forward to seeing what you create.
Luca Carducci
This new version brings video chat integration to the next level. It allows to fully customize the experience and having a white label product ensuring high quality video calls
Fritz Brumder
@luca_carducci It takes a village to build next level tools. 🍻
Ruben Wolff
Congrats on the launch! So can you put an ephemeral video chat or are these supposed to stay available for a long time on your website?
Fritz Brumder
@rubenwolff Zipcan is rather flexible based on the settings. It can be ephemeral based on access to the chat entirely or specific rooms. Or you can have rooms persist and be recorded. Check out this blog post for details on configuration options: https://blog.zipcan.com/zipcan-c...

Congratulations @fritzly and team on the upgrade and launch! Definetely Zipcan is becoming one of the greatest (or maybe the best!) options out there to embed Videoconferencing on any site!
Fritz Brumder
@lluis_m_ventura That means a lot coming from someone who has also spent a lot of time innovating in video!
Quentin
I use Zipcan since the beta and it’s an amazing product, as a dev, the level of customization and the JS component is so great that I don’t think anymore about using a api. Congrats
Fritz Brumder
@quentingabriele Thanks 🙏 Isn't it amazing how no-code tools can be so powerful and flexible even for the more technical audience.
Stef
Looks great! Gonna check it out.

Hey Product Hunt, A huge thanks to our 500+ customers who signed up for Zipcan beta, provided feedback and upgraded early to the full product we are launching today!! What is Zipcan? Using only an embed code, any website or web product can add customized video chat to existing experiences. How does it work? 🔨 Zipcan provides a simple admin to configure a video chat space with settings and a custom theme. Our embed options work with almost any website or web app, but we have provided step-by-step integration instructions for Hubspot CMS. Hubspot Meetings, Squarespace, Shopify, and Calendly. Who built it? @spenser_lea and @fritzly. Spenser and I previously worked closely together at Brandlive (www.brandlive.com), where Fritz was the co-founder and CEO, and Spenser was the Director of Product Design. Why would someone use Zipcan rather than the competition? Our customers choose Zipcan because it’s more integrated than video conferencing tools like Zoom and it’s faster than video API’s like Agora. What does it cost? You can try it for free, so sign up and if you like it, we have plans starting at $25/mo. We are eager to hear your comments and see what you build with Zipcan. Thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us and our advisors @adnys and @jeffrey_hardison
Eric Duvauchelle
I installed the beta for my wife’s health coaching business and it’s been great so far. Plugged into squarespace easily, which is a good thing cause I’m not a dev. Looking forward to the new features.
Fritz Brumder
@eric_duvauchelle2 Love it. We really wanted to create a tool that could support customers from the enterprise to individuals. So far we have seen that with our beta customers. Excited to see what is created in the next few months with the full product.
Bikash Makaju
Video chat is indeed an opportunity and it's awesome how Zipcan helps us customize our video conferencing by just embedding code. Congratulations @fritzly @spenser_lea and the team.
Jeffrey Hardison
Love what @fritzly and the team have done with Zipcan. So many sites — e-commerce, coaching businesses, etc. — need on-site video chat.

I Want to implement but want to clarify first will this let users call each other?
Fritz Brumder
@repreneur You can choose based on the settings and where you embed if users can call each other. We have a setting called "user hosted chats" which means that everyone that starts a room will be unique to them and they can invite others in. We also have a feature called Dynamic Rooms where you can create a room on the fly for users within your product. We have documentation on our website or you can schedule time with our team to help with implementation https://blog.zipcan.com/knowledg...
sulyman moyo
@fritzly WAW i'm soooo implementing this rn thanks :)
Stephen Price
The Zipcan team not only made a wonderful product to interact with our platform, but the level of personal support has been wonderful. Great UX, no bugs and easy to use and embed!
Fritz Brumder
@stephen_price5 Thanks for your partnership! We just release our customer stories and video interviews on our website. https://www.zipcan.com/customers for those that want a more in depth look at how Zipcan actually works!
