Hey Hunters! I’m Aaron, one of the co-founders of ZenHub. In 2019 it’s no secret that every company is becoming a software company. Even within traditional businesses, software projects are becoming more important than they’ve ever been. Despite this, most businesses still struggle to understand the progress of key software projects and whether they’re on track to meet important goals and deadlines. That’s why today, we’re excited to announce ZenHub Roadmaps—the first and only product roadmapping solution built inside of GitHub. ZenHub Roadmaps brings a timeline view of your critical software projects into GitHub, and automatically stays up-to-date as your team closes Issues and merges Pull Requests. As a result, teams no longer have to maintain a roadmapping tool that is separate from the code, and have the confidence that the progress and status of their key projects is always up-to-date. We’re incredibly excited to see how teams put ZenHub Roadmaps to use in helping plan, track, and provide visibility across their different projects!

As a previous project manager in the tech industry (and now a developer at ZenHub), I can honestly say this new Roadmap functionality that allows managers to track project progress is something I had been looking for, for a very long time. With many of the other solutions that were available to me at the time, I would have to manually make sure that the progress tracked in other software / spreadsheets was always up-to-date with GitHub tickets, making progress tracking tedious and constantly out of sync with actual development status. This Roadmap feature eliminates that tedium, saving managers grief and keeps things easy for developers; I am planning on using it for my own personal projects. Excellent edition to an already useful product. Would (and do) use.
