I am the developer behind Working Copy and it is really cool seeing my app on Product Hunt.
Working Copy tries to include a full set of Git features, letting you commit, push, branch, merge, cherry-pick, rebase and much more. It includes a merge-tool for solving conflicts, where you pick the parts of each file you want by dragging chunks of text around and it has a diff viewer that works on images as well as text.
As Marcus mentioned the app has integration with many editing applications. Through the document-picker it works really well with Textastic letting you open entire directories inside Working Copy. For other applications such as Coda, Codea and Editorial custom integration has been developed.
It has special support for web programming letting you preview websites and evaluate javascript, with a console log that can jump directly to the spot in your source code that threw a exception or wrote to the log. This will work without a Internet connection, if your website is contained entirely in the repository.
You can try out much of this without paying anything. The app is free to download and just needs a one-time purchase to unlock the ability to push commits back to your remote.
If you have any questions about what it does or how it works, just let me know and I will do my best to answer.
It's been a big deal for me to be able to set up and edit new websites on iOS. Working Copy is a fully fledged Git client for iOS. It enables you to get real development work done. It communicates with third-party editors like Textastic, Editorial, and others. You can easily clone or pull a remote file, edit it in your favourite iOS editor and push it back to the repository.
I've been using Working Copy for developing websites on GitHub Pages and it has been great so far. There are one or two other full git clients now for iOS, but I found their user interfaces confusing. Working copy's interface is clear and simple to use. I think it's particularly useful for website development, and people who don't like using the command line. Now I can clone an existing website and create a new site straight on an iOS device with very little overhead, especially using GitHub pages. You can use any git server, plus GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, and GitBook are all supported. Check it out.
An amazing tool. Really helps me make quick edits, and works so well with Textastic. One of the best apps I have ever found, would certainly recommend to anyone that uses Github, Bitbucket, etc. So helpful, thanks so much for making this!
Clear and simple to use, quick and easy. Could not reccomend more.
