Roadmap is a platform for makers to show a public product roadmap so others can see what the product is going to shape out to be. Future additions will be so users can suggest and upvote feature requests.

Cool project Adam - congrats on launching it. Love the idea and what you've managed to build so for. πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ I had kind of a similar idea and decided to try and validate it via a weekly newsletter called BuildersOf where makers could share a quick status about their project.
Adam Davies
@alincatalin thank you πŸ™ I also wanted it validated that's why I've launched it while still in progress but functional. Kind of prove my own case by using it. Glad you like it and thanks for checking it out.

I was literally thinking about such a product the other day, asking myself "what could I use to publicly share what is in my backlog?" Right now seems like a public Trello board could do the trick, but I'm quite curious where this product will go as it's more focused on this specific use case!
Adam Davies
@gflandre Thanks for taking a look. I thought I would launch it with it's own Roadmap to prove its own use case. I have been using it locally to make myself get out of a rut and now it's public it will be even more so. Thanks again and if you have any thoughts or ideas how I can improve Roadmap, let me know πŸ‘

I've been doing this manually but this seems a good alternative. I will sharing it with a friend so we can both launch or side projects.
Adam Davies
@fjaguero Thanks for checking it out. Hopefully I will be able to get commenting working over the weekend to allow for greater engagement with Roadmaps you are following and people that are following your Roadmaps. Thanks again and hope you find it useful.
Adam Davies
Huge update just hit Roadmap. Check it out.
Adam Davies
Commenting is now live on Roadmap. Comment on yours or other makers Roadmaps to help/decide the direction of a project πŸ™Œ

Hi Everyone, I have been working on Roadmap over the past couple of weeks. I am launching it at this stage to prove my own use case by being transparent about the progress I am making with the site. Login is handled by Twitter and users are able to create roadmaps with milestones and other useful information. You can also follow other roadmaps and view a feed of the most recent and what you are following. I'll be here all day answering any questions and fixing bugs you may encounter. Hope to see some of your own project roadmaps on Roadmap. Thanks for taking a look.
Adam Davies
Added latest makers to the home page and feed page to allow for easier access to view makers Roadmaps.
Adam Davies
You can now embed your own Roadmaps to your website using the embed button (located under the edit roadmap button).

Great idea @adammydesign. Will give this a try.
Adam Davies
@nickhung thank you πŸ™ let me know what you think and if you notice any bugs / recommendations. I have a small list of great ideas from this thread that I will be adding in this week/over the next few days.
Stephen Campbell
Am I the only one confused as to why couldn't I just use my own site to host what appears to be a checklist?????????????????????????
Adam Davies
@stephenalan Hi Stephen. To some degree you are right. The idea for me was to put people together to get some accountability and to action what your doing because your aware of people following and engaging with it. I'll be adding commenting and milestone voting to also help product creators get direction from others for the product. It is very much an MVP at the moment but looking for it to grow and become a useful tool to gather data on where makers should take their product based off of feedback. Either way, thank you for at least checking it out and taking the time to comment.
Stephen Campbell
@adammydesign Sure. My vote is to release Milestone Voting 1st. See what I did there? All the best!
Adam Davies
@stephenalan ha ha. I did πŸ˜‚

I like the idea of a public accountability board. Have posted a project https://rdmap.co/profile/ebrahim...
Adam Davies
@ebrahimkhalil Coool! πŸ‘ Thanks for trying it out.
Rosita
@adammydesign Good job, it's awesome your product. Makers could get feedback quickly if you add the option to 'upvote' or 'comment' each milestone, it helps you to 'listen' what people say, and it would add more interaction and maybe get early adopters.
Adam Davies
@rosa7082 I like the idea of upvoting milestones. It would mean an easy line of feedback like @jasonadriaan wanted embedded roadmaps that was in my Roadmap but not as important to me. Thanks for the feedback Rosita, it's much appreciated and I can't wait to grow this product while the community are growing their own. Comments I have in my own Roadmap to be hopefully added this week. These are likely to be for the entire roadmap rather than each milestone but will definitely see how it goes πŸ‘ Thanks again
Jason Adriaan
@rosa7082 @adammydesign and thanks to Adam it was built, tested and live on my site within an hour https://gitkeep.co/#roadmap :)
Adam Davies
@rosa7082 @jasonadriaan Thanks Jason. I've now added a button under the edit roadmap button so now everyone can embed their Roadmaps to their website πŸŽ‰
Adam Davies
@rosa7082 Commenting on Roadmaps is now live. I will be adding commenting to milestones along with voting next πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
Nosherwan Arbab
seems interesting
Adam Davies
@thenosh Thanks πŸ‘ I created Roadmap as a mixture of stopping myself from procrastinating and also wanting to show some transparency with what I'm making and gather feedback on features that might be added. I will be adding commenting soon to allow for greater engagement with followers of roadmaps.
Product Pearson
Nice. Checking this out and adding to my productivity/Product Management tools
Adam Davies
@theashtube Just added commenting to Roadmap so now users can engage with the products everyone is making.
Product Pearson
(You just need to fix the twitter links/follow heart button things, as they don't work on any of the roadmaps)
Adam Davies
@theashtube What is happening when you click Ashley? Thanks for checking it out and giving some feedback.
Adam Davies
@theashtube Found the culprit. Referencing a local insecure file πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Fixed now
Adam Davies
@theashtube Thanks dude πŸ‘ Joys of going from local to live. ha ha
Primer
If you could add voting to this it may organically pivot into something other than what you intended. Which is a great thing! There is nothing out there that does what uservoice used to do before they changed their pricing structure to be enterprise only. You could fill that gap with this, you're already close.
Adam Davies
@mickc79 thanks Mick. Voting to the Roadmaps? Sort of like most validated products kind of thing? Will have to check out uservoice I think to get the complete picture of what you mean. Thank you for checking it out and giving some great feedback.
Adam Davies
@mickc79 After taking a look at what I can of uservoice I take it you meant voting against the milestones to allow other users to vote on what they think would be the best feature to focus on or implement full stop? Thanks again
Primer
@adammydesign Yes exactly. The maker lists a bunch of features that he/she plans to implement, and the USERS vote on which ones are most important to them, thus affecting the build order. It would be so valuable.
Adam Davies
@mickc79 do you think there should be a separate feature list to the roadmap or have voting on the milestones and allow them to evolve naturally rather than creating 2 different streams of content?
Adam Davies
@mickc79 Big update now uploaded Mick. Milestone voting with them and the ability for other users to suggest features for your roadmap πŸ‘
Serudda
Hi Adam, great product!. The design is so clear and minimal, it's beautiful. I would add the option to post the url of my project (if is a website for example), because roadmap could help me to share my progress, but also to show my progress (e.g. new features, markup refactor, etc.).
Adam Davies
@sergioruizdavila Cool. Thanks Sergio. I have the column in the database ready but just didn't want to clutter Roadmap creation form so idea was to have a "launch" button so that you can add the URL at the point you want to share it with the public. Do you think this is a good idea or do you think the field should be available from the get go? Thanks for checking it out. Appreciated
Serudda
@adammydesign I tell you from my need, @rosa7082 and I have created stylepill.carrd.co/#now section to show our progress in real-time. And we have already created the project, but I would like to share it in Roadmap, but Stylepill is finished right now, we are adding some new features that we would like to share. I think you should give me de option to choose, if I need to put the url from the beginning, or if I want to put it when my product is finished.
Adam Davies
@rosa7082 @sergioruizdavila Thanks for the feedback Sergio. Will add option for both hopefully today. Will let you both know when it's in πŸ‘. Really appreciate the time taken out to help improve my product.
Adam Davies
@rosa7082 @sergioruizdavila URL input is now available Sergio πŸ‘
