an adorable status bar app that keeps your mac awake even when the lid is closed. no external monitor required. built open source with swift using lovely frame-by-frame animations. for those looking for a simpler, easier way to do this every day. enjoy! ✨

πŸ‘‹ thanks for coming by! whilom is a little passion project me and my fiancΓ© dreamed up this month. it's fully compatible with macOS Big Sur and completely free. you can also check out the source code on Github if you'd like to contribute or learn how it was made. πŸͺ„ whilom is a status bar app that uses a cute little animation to show you if your mac is allowed to sleep or not. even if you shut the lid of your macbook, whilom continues on. πŸ€” with all the new streaming services popping up, and our laptops constantly needing to be awake for Plex servers or active tabs, whilom gets this done with absolutely no fuss. 🌺 enjoy!

This is huge! Don't exactly need this functionality right now, but there've been various cases where it could help a lot. That's not good that people majorly look at the design, and do not put likes on really useful applications, but this is the world we live in. As a person who understands the direction of users' thoughts, I recommend adding more dark tones and contrasting elements in the screenshots and on the website. In addition, it may be worth removing emoticons from the menu β€” they are too different from the built-in interface of the system. Wish you good luck and achievements. Despite the slightly outdated approach to programming in Swift, I liked the code, although at first it seems a little cumbersome.

@dafuqtor Thanks for the feedback! Will look into these changes, although I personalized the app to feel fun to use for myself, and then released it after I knew it would be useful and enjoyable for likeminded people. As for Swift being outdated β€” ha ha, good joke, I'll see you around the comedy club sometime. πŸ˜‰
