The first result was my actual sunscreen 👏🏾 Have to admit I was a lil sceptical going in because the SPF market doesn't always recognise the needs of melanated skin tones...delighted to see this as a consideration!

@jacarandachick We are so happy that you like it! It is definitely important to us to be helpful for people with both melanin-rich and melanin-poor skin - all type benefit from a regular sunscreen use!

Hello everyone! In case you aren’t into skincare: sun is the main reason our skin ages and it greatly increases the risk of skin cancer, especially as we are lucky to live longer lives. Bottom line: We all need to be using sunscreen on a regular basis. Selecting the right product is tricky though: there are 17 UV filters used in sunscreen in the US (and 27 in the rest of the world), each of them with their pros and cons. Does the sunscreen provide enough UVA protection? How likely it is to irritate my skin? Will it sting my eyes? Can I use it on a baby? Will it work for my dark skin? Will it look greasy? - I’ve met people who maintain lengthy spreadsheets with ingredient notes just to be able to identify a sunscreen that is right for them. Others simply pick up the first product on a drugstore shelf, often ending up with a sunscreen they can’t use because it is too greasy or burns their eyes. With a biomed scientist, dermatologist, an AI engineer, and a skincare nerd (yours truly) on the team, we thought we could make sunscreen selection easier with our free tool. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Really like this product for a big reason: Niche-communities. You go to this website because of X. Being greek myself, I don't necessarily have this problem... lucky 🤠 But a TON of my friend's get burnt all the time. I've sent your link to over 10 people :) Successful communities are built around bringing people together facing similar challenges. Shoot.. take PH for example :) Nice work, keep it up 👏

@alex_papageorge Thank you so much Alex! Yes, definitely, we are working on giving home to ah honest, post-Instagram skincare community. Thanks a lot for your support!

This is very good idea! 👍🏻 But there is one thing... Not all people live in Canada and USA. Some people are travelling to Asia. It would be nice to make an assortment of items for protecting skin bigger in order to find a suitable sunscreen in other countries. I live in Indonesia and the Suncreen finder showed me brands which we don't have in Indonesia. And my second recommendation is to improve design of website and make it more user-friendly. To be more specific, it's much better to improve this page - https://whatsinmyjar.com/page/su.... Anyway you did good job! Good luck with that! 🍀

@alexandra_zubatova Thank you so much for your feedback, we are definitely taking it onboard. The goal is to be helpful to people in any country and region - will take us some time to achieve this, but we are on it! The same goes for the UX improvements, you are spot on. Thanks again!
