Interactive virtual object handling for everyone, everywhere, with just a phone. Open source library for Android with Unity, and other platforms with hardware options.
Wow. This truly is the beginning of a huge shift for AR. While it looks rather basic right now this is a major step forward. Especially bringing what used to be more “consumable” to becoming more interactive and “creatable”
I mean just imagine a giant AR Jenga somewhere on the side of the road and everybody can play with it just using your phone or some other low power device.
Brilliant.
This augmented reality software library, developed at Brown University, shows how AR would look like when virtual objects can be touched and played with, while running just on an everyday phone. What would you want to touch and interact with, if you could see augmented reality objects through your phone?
