Carry is an executive assistant for travel over Slack. The service plans, books, and expenses trips so that you can focus on what you're good at. You get the points and Carry remembers your preferences. https://carry.travel/

This can be insanely useful since I was travel for work quite frequently. Where do you all source your inventory from? Is it just flights and hotels?
Tejas Manohar
@lipmanb Flights and hotels are most popular, but we've also been doing trains and cars. We even did JetSuiteX a couple times. Are there other transportation methods you're interested in?

Hi ProductHunt! We've been impressed with the response here. Y'all must love travel. If you use Slack at work and want to get started using Carry, we've created a temporary link while we're on the front page to go ahead and install Carry. Here's the flow: - Go to https://carry.travel/phpromo - Select your team's workspace in the top right - For "Post to", select "Slackbot" or anything (this step is annoying, sorry-- we'll fix) - Click "Install" (You may have to ask an administrator depending on your settings) - Send a _direct message_ to @Carry on Slack saying anything If your team uses another platform or wants to get in touch, schedule a demo (under the request access button, https://carry.travel/) or email tejas [at] carry [dot] travel, and we'll be in touch.

Carry takes all of the work of booking travel out of your hands--all you have to do is message them where you need to be and they’ll take care of the rest. Having an on-demand personal assistant for travel is a gamechanger for both individuals and teams who fly a lot. I travel often and having Carry would’ve saved me 30+ hours in booking time over the past year. We have this installed in YC’s internal Slack and we’re super excited to start using them.

@gustaf looks like this offered as a benefit to employees as well a self-service tool that employees seek and use/install on their own. Was this previously offered only for teams? If so, what motivated Carry to launch a self-service tool for only Slack (i.e. why not in other personal messaging channels)?
Kashish Gupta
@chrismessina You're exactly right! The majority of our customers in the past have been companies that use us to manage their travel for all employees. We wanted to open it up to individuals who might find it useful for work travel, and it's now available on Slack, SMS, and email! We focus on Slack because we've found that our users on Slack get the most value out of Carry, but some users prefer to talk to Carry on SMS instead! What platform would you like to see us on? :)

Really psyched to see Carry out in the wild!

Awesome!

We’re using Carry extensively at AON3D - they consistently find us better routings than we can find ourselves, and the booking process is super streamlined & simple.

This is amazing! Congrats Kashish & Tejas!

I used them for one trip and it was really smooth.

Pros:

Very convenient and stress free. It really felt like i had an assistant to handle the hard part for me. Definitely going to use them again.

Cons:

Maybe a way to cross reference public events, so I could say "I'm going to [event]" and the agent would know which city/dates.

Wow, cant believe how simple it is, great job team.

We've been using Carry for the last few months, and it's become our go-to place to book travel for our whole team. They found us a pretty good deal on a site I wouldn't have found without them.
Will Yoo
Looks like this could have been very helpful planning trips among groups of friends this past year, might have saved me at immigration as well. Looks far smarter than the travel sites I have been booking on. Better to have a smart assistant for the headache which is travel.
Tejas Manohar
@will_yoo Thanks, Will! We do group travel, though there's a long way to go. No product has really cracked this yet, but it's on our minds. Email me at [my first name] [at] carry [dot] travel to try our group experience for your next trip.

Usually apps try to take % of booking, create their own reward system, or source deals with an affiliate model. This is the first that is stand-out and really just trying to make travelling easier :)

Pros:

Slack integration is very responsive, and eliminates other nodes (i.e. Google, Docs, etc.) in booking travel.

Cons:

Is there a dashboard to keep track of everything? Can only see the Slack integration thus far.

Very cool! I'd love to hear a little more on how the prices compare on average to Expedia or Orbitz @kashish_gupta & @tejasmanohar
Tejas Manohar
@kashish_gupta @nipunfsingh Hey Nipun! We pull inventory from many sources, including Expedia and Orbitz. Whenever Carry books something for you, we "justify" your rate by proving that it's no more than the lowest online price
Rohan Pavuluri

Love the founding team!

Pros:

Easy to book travel

Cons:

Can't think of any

Krish Ramineni

Not having to manually hunt for the best rates is a huge time saver especially for last minute business flights

Pros:

Not all of us have office managers or business admins to help us with travel logistics. Carry fills that gap with a seamless experience

Cons:

Would love to get access on more channels so I can use it more

Bill He
Really excited to start using this amazingly simple workflow and booking flights for family members :)
Ethan Anderson
Looks great! So excited for you guys!
Ethan Anderson

I think its great to have a real person on the other end taking something off my plate

Pros:

Loved the usability

Cons:

Would love to see more options for booking

Cool product! What parts of the processes are automated? How will you avoid the traps Fin fell into back when it was an EA-as-a-service?
Tejas Manohar
@greenleaf Great question and glad you liked the product. Fin and other assistants-as-a-service weren't very focused and handled a wide variety of tasks. This made them hard to scale both from a cost perspective (which ultimately led to Fin's pivot) and also quality-- it's hard to make the service personal at scale when people can ask anything and all the requests are different. Carry, however, is completely focused on travel, and while we do more than booking (cancellations, support, changes, group travel, etc.) and may expand further down the road, we plan to stay within the travel domain, as that alone is a massive opportunity (there's trillions of dollars of business travel per year).
Jack Smith
i couldn’t find any details about pricing or further details on the site. how much does the service cost?
