Wardrobe - A peer-to-peer mobile platform for the rental of apparel.

by

In an age when the fashion world is undergoing transformational change—led by millennials, influencers, Instagram and the rise of the sharing economy—Wardrobe offers an opportunity to rent apparel from individuals who inspire you. It’s the key to unlocking the style you’ve always wanted and sparking others to do the same.

This is like a peer-to-peer Rent the Runway cc @suzywillow
Adarsh Alphons
@suzywillow @rrhoover Yes, in a sense. Just a much better price point (items are on average 40% less expensive than RTR), while we give 90% of the rental price directly to the owner. What's even more interesting is our on-the-ground operations - to be revealed at our launch!

Fab new idea and can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Thank you @sree!

Hey @adarshalphons is there an invitation code that I can use
Adarsh Alphons
@ram_rayavarapu Hi Ram, thanks for your interest. We'd love to give you access, but the app is currently only available in NYC.

Hey @adarshalphons, Can you tell us more about what you've built here? What aspect are you most proud of? And when will you be fully launched?
Adarsh Alphons
@jacqvon Hi! Sure. We're essentially an Airbnb for clothes (the nicer stuff, of course). We're most proud of and fascinated by our users - and I think that'll only increase as we scale. We are slated to launch at the end of October! 🤞🏽

@adarshalphons, I can see some possible desire in the market for users to come and find clothes to rent. Can you speak to the potential for someone "hosting" their apparel on your platform? (Just curious what you see as the possibilities)
Adarsh Alphons
@stephen_vanover Sure. We call these users Owners (as they own the clothes). Owners get a safe, secure way to monetize on their underused assets (clothes and accessories). Essentially, we're scaling up the 'lend to your best-friend' experience in a smart and operationally effective way.
Stephen Vanover
@adarshalphons Sounds like you have launched, correct? if so, do you have any users right now? Curious what the engagement has been like and how you plan to scale?
Adarsh Alphons
@stephen_vanover We haven't launched yet. We are in stealth/ private-beta/ testing mode until we launch publicly at the end of October. Yup, we have users for that. During this phase we've gained some very insightful user behavior and engagement data. We have an operational play that is very scalable (beyond NYC), but of course, we'll only consider that after we've gained the market share in NYC.

Hi Adarsh, Would love to hear how social media is going to play in your marketing - it seems your target audience is right on snapchat and instagram
Adarsh Alphons
@equinnwo You're absolutely right - social media is essential to our marketing and growth, especially as a NPS metric. We have a few strategies in place, but our social play is something we'll be watching closely and evolving.
