@colin_ristig FYI, your screenshot shows the Chase Sapphire card: https://nimb.ws/m4eUA1 but Chase stopped offering price protection as a benefit last year (see: https://www.chase.com/content/ch... ) are there actually many cards that even still offer price protection? I think Citi's cards are the only ones that I know about.

Very vague privacy wise, if they can read your emails, anybody in the company must have access to it. You need to send an email to delete your account... Do they delete the emails they've crawled afterwards?

Pros:

Clean interface and ease of use

Cons:

Lack of informations about privacy

Colin Ristig
Hey @pierrickgt , we have a page dedicated to our privacy available on our site here: https://www.getwaldo.com/privacy.... Also working on automating the account deletion. Appreciate the feedback

It’s one of those products I go: why didn’t this exist before?
Colin Ristig
@charlesjo we thought the same thing!

@charlesjo other products like this have existed before

Hey there 👋 SUPER excited to announce the launch of my AI startup — Waldo 🎉 We all know airline fares, hotel rooms, and concert tickets frequently change in price. But what if I told you prices for sneakers, jeans, and laptops change just as often? Waldo is artificial intelligence built to save you money on recent purchases when they drop in price by leveraging a hidden perk called price protection. Waldo gets you money back from a diverse set of brands including Amazon, Patagonia, Best Buy, and Nordstrom just to name a few. Waldo works with over 100+ brands, with new ones added every day. The best part — you don’t have to lift a finger. Funds are directly credited back to your credit card from the store. We’re currently working on support for airlines, hotels, and so much more. Join us on our journey — and let us know where you would like to save more money. And to celebrate our launch, we’re giving people a $10 bonus for each friend they refer 💸💸💸

Cool product. Would be interesting to see if we can do price prediction on retail. Waylo(https://thewaylo.com) does price prediction on hotels only at the moment.

@kyunbit1 Great question: we're still in the early stages but we've prototyped a couple models that can do exactly this. More good stuff in the works! Thanks for the feedback!

Waldo needs to access the user's mail to find the invoices of online shopping. It is not yet clear how this very sensitive data is processed by Waldo: is our data stored, who can access it? I wrote a mail to delete my account to the given mail address three days ago and my mailtracker informs me that my mail has not been opened as of since. In conclusion: It may be the most useful service in the world, but at these conditions: no, thanks.

Pros:

Clean interface, interesting goal

Cons:

Not so much clear about privacy. Account can be deleted only by sending a mail to their support. Support does not reply in due time.

Great product! I wonder how do you read/access the items that were billed on the users card. I don't think banks expose that data.

@banananize from your emails i presume, given it asks to connect your gmail

Feels like I had been forgetting to go the the free money drawer prior to signing up. Great product

Pros:

Simple to use and continues to work passively in the background for you

Cons:

Haven’t really found any yet

Would recommend to a friend!

Pros:

This is so easy. Just set it and forget it, once a product you already bought goes on sale, more cash goes back into your pocket!

Cons:

Haven’t seen anything bad yet!

Looking forward to reeeeeeeling in the dough!

Pros:

Waldo does everything for me. Having it is unbelievably pain free, and a simple cost/benefit analysis makes signing up a total no brainer.

Cons:

None that I can see thus far.

Pretty neat concept. Hard part is now keeping my online shopping to pre-Waldo levels. Just wanna see the numbers on the dashboard change

Does this work in the UK?
Colin Ristig
@markjordan30 Right now its just for US-based purchases/retailers. We're looking into adding UK support soon. Any UK-specific retailers you'd recommend we should look at?
Aakash Patel
So how's this any different from wikibuy formerly known as Paribus?
Colin Ristig
@banananize biggest different is the number of retailers supported - we have +100 while paribus is more like 15-20
