I also just realized this could probably be really cool for my clients when i do consulting.... that way if they have questions again after a call, they don't have to watch the whole thing but can search through. Do they need to also be paying users to be able to access the recordings after the meeting?
@britt_joiner Meeting limits are based on the pricing plan you choose https://www.vowel.com/pricing/ If you are on the Free plan it's up to 12 and that includes members and guests. You can see more about the difference between a workspace member and a guest here: https://help.vowel.com/en/articl... Guests can search within a single meeting that they have been in, members can search across multiple meetings since they have access to the entire workspace. @britt_joiner Just to add in here, we don't require that guests have a paid account. As soon as the meeting ends, we'll send them a copy of the meeting (recording, transcript, and notes) so they can reference what happened on the call and not have to poke you so much to follow up ;)

I wonder how well the transcription supports different languages and how it does with stronger accents. Any experiences so far?

@erin_letson1 in English mainly but as our team is very international we have many different accents some stronger than others
@erin_letson1 @franziska_kroll Ah, I see. You're asking about how well we transcribe english with other accents? We have an international team as well! We have folks from 11 different countries on the team and we all use the transcription EVERY DAY to power so much goodness. I find that it's slightly less accurate with some accents, but overall VERY accurate and easy to quickly search and hop RIGHT BACK to a key moment you're trying to remember.

@vowelhq @andrew_berman Does each member have it's own 120 mins? Or do they all share the same limits
Hi @nok_moe, each member can have meetings up to 50 minutes (on the free plan), up to 120 minutes (on the Pro plan), and up to 10 hours (on the Business Plan). This is the time limit for an individual meeting — there's no cap on how many meetings you can have! Let me know if that makes sense or check out https://www.vowel.com/pricing/

Wow, this is a revolution for the meeting minutes we have all done in daily work. Congrats guys on the launch! Will try it and get back if I have any feedback to improve! Just a curious question: what is the accuracy rate for the transcript you have received in the testing phase or pre-launch?

Sharing a clip of a meeting is really a feature I need that I haven't notice until I saw Vowel. Vowel seems like a practical video conferencing tool that will enhance team collaboration. Congratulations on your launch! 🚀
@hilal_aydin @andrew_berman Thank you!! Clips are such a great way to share only the specific meeting moments that someone needs to see. More often than not people don't need to watch an entire meeting, they only need to see a snippet of what's relevant to them.

There are now a category of tools that have this functionality. What I really love about Vowel is how intuitive the user interface is compare to most of the alternatives. Great work on iterating the product to this spot! Looking forward to what's next.
Super cool! Is there a way to integrate it with notion? So, if you search for content in the meeting, then any similar content found in your Company Notion can also shown in suggestions.
@rahul_2992 More integrations are definitely on the roadmap! We have one in the works with Zapier, which will allow you to get info out of Vowel and into tools like Notion.
Some of our customers also use the one-click transcript export button to copy and paste transcripts into Notion so they're stored alongside other company info. You can copy and paste the meeting notes as well!

I was very skeptical at first as there are lots of zoom plugins that claim to do similar things and switching from zoom within a company is really hard but it forces good meeting hygiene with the agenda right there. It's also really easy for someone that didn't make the meeting to come back and glance at the important parts. I would recommend it for cross team checkins, product planning, sales calls and onboarding calls vs zoom.
@kevingibbon Thanks Kevin! You're right, it is hard to get people to switch from zoom. But we've found that Vowel works cohesively to solve so many problems that Zoom doesn't solve that people are eager to switch to this "game changer" of a product. I literally never re-watched a zoom call when I was at companies that used it to meet & recorded meetings. But I revisit past Vowel meetings all the time (like time travel) to grab that one insight, that context on the decisions, or even just to brunch up on the key parts of an important meeting that I had to miss.
@kevingibbon @anna_marie_clifton Thanks so much for sharing! The Zoom/Meet plugin space is definitely crowded — but these add-ons can be hard to set up, clunky, and costly. Glad to hear Vowel is solving multiple pain points for you!
p.s. Were you using a Zoom plugin before Vowel? Would love to hear about that experience!
@kevingibbon I completely agree! A key goal of Vowel is helping teams have more effective and organized meetings. After all, people’s time is valuable. But that’s another key value of Vowel, as teams can get so much more value out of meetings by searching across their meetings to find important ideas and action items, as well as sharing clips and meetings (which is certainly more efficient than having the “same meeting again” just to relay ideas that were already discussed/ presented to a different set of participants).

@david_sipos Our strategy involves investing in great creative that can be used beyond the launch (like our new video!) and doing outreach to our community and customer base before and during the launch. We also keep our team up to date so they can reach out to people in their networks — the network effect is real! Twitter has also been a great channel for amplifying the launch message.

I'm curious can it help me with a current issue: I'm doing tons of user research calls and I am poor at taking detailed notes while also driving the research call. I know Vowel can transcribe notes, but I want something that will dump me a summary of call with action items and the next steps we agreed to on the call. I can ofc go in and edit the insights and add in any ideas generated from the call.
However, this is my pain point: every 30-min call ends up requiring 30-mins of summarizing, cleaning notes, etc. Shave this from 30 to 10mins and you win me.
@andrew_berman @shivhpatel I hear this pain for sure! One thing I do it add Action items as I go with the `/action` command in the shared notes panel. That way, at the end of the day, I see everything in one place that I agreed to do.
Also, you can bookmark insightful moments with a simple key stroke as you're talking. Just press `B` and at the end of your call, you'll get links to all the moments you bookmarked. You can share those with others, or just use them as reference.
💡 Bonus tip: One thing I've always found to be challenging in user research is recalling exactly who said that one key quote that is all-of-a-sudden-super-important-to-share. With Vowel, you don't have to go back and rewatch a bunch of recordings to find that moment: you can do a quick search for any word or phrase spoken on ANY CALL you've been on, and jump right into the meeting. You can clip that insight and share with others (public to anyone with the link, or private to just your workspace members). This allows me to make so much more use of these calls after they are over.
AND If you have decided to prioritize something new, you can quickly search back for any time a user mentioned that feature on a call. Re-watch that little bit for the insight, or use that to find potential users to dive in deeper with.

Research Calls / Meetings are a great use-case for Vowel, as you can take simple notes, add bookmarks, comments, highlights, and define action-items — all of these data points are associated with the specific points in time within the meeting/transcript when they were added, which provides valuable context and helps to identify the most relevant parts of the meeting so that you can easily find them later. And because everything within Vowel is searchable, you have the benefit of being able to search across all of your meetings and identify associations, topics, and threads that can help identify important patterns and trends for your research.
Vowel is a top-notch video conferencing software with capabilities many other tools lack. I particularly like the fact that I can see the time each attendee has spoken so we can give more speaking time to those whose voice hasn't been heard much during an internal or external call. Also, the fact that you can have your own meeting room (e.g., meeting link) and share it with others to jump on a call within seconds with no friction whatsoever makes the whole meeting experience much more enjoyable. Well done on the launch, and way to go to the amazing team at Vowel! 🙏🏻

@cturlica Searchable, sharable knowledge! Calls don't have to be a bottomless pit of time. Now they can be energetic and forward-moving. I'm on Vowel several hours a day and not feeling any of the fatigue I used to feel with zoom. I'm always moving forward and never have to have the same meeting twice.
