Hey @jesse_ariss1, the first thing I see when clicking through to the website is a contest landing page. So I thought I would enter it, but it seems the closing date was October 25. Maybe should remove the landing page, or extend the contest date?

@tzafrir_forsher I was expecting this question! Like many other free products, our first goal is to make sure we've got a solid tool that people enjoy using. We do have a "Pro" version, but we've hidden the upgrade button deep in the menus, since we think most users will be able to do what they need without upgrading.
The pro version adds some nice functionality like the ability to embed more videos across the web, and customize your video landing page, but it's certainly not necessary to get the most out of the product.
There are still a lot of businesses and freelancers that aren't using video on their websites. We've heard everything from "video is hard to make" to "video is expensive," and even "YouTube videos drive traffic away from my site and back to YouTube!"
So we set out to make a video platform that removes many of the barriers to getting started with video, and I'm excited to share the results!
-It shouldn't be ad-supported, (So we made it ad-free)
-It shouldn't have too many limitations, (So we made uploads unlimited)
-And it shouldn't be too expensive, (So we made it free)
And that's all there is to it — a simple, free video hosting tool with no ads and no limits.
We have a lot of improvements planned still, but we wanted to give the PH community one of the first looks. Try it out and let us know what you think!
What is your business model? The idea is awesome, however, the only thing I worry about is the sustainability of this service, since almost everything you offer is for free.
@jarodise1 We've been around for a few years and we have several enterprise customers. This is our first video hosting product made for smaller business and individuals. Quite candidly we believe that giving people easy and free access to ad-free video hosting will help us create loyal users and drive awareness for our other paid offerings.
?Makers I feel a little confused. I went to your site, linked on the right side of the ProductHunt page, and I see there is a free tier but there are limits which doesn't match the description above where @jesse_ariss1 you say, " a simple, free video hosting tool with no ads and no limits." There's a limit of 5 videos embedded on the users website. Which is correct?
I'm also a little confused, because I went to the site, but the chat bot said there was a free version, which I went to (the URL was something about a screen recorder), but the page was the basic same page as the original home page. Is there something different here?
And I'm also confused by what Jarod said in his comment about being worried about the service because almost everything you offer is for free. I only see one basic plan that's free - 80% of your offers are paid and priced significantly. (no judgment) Am I on the wrong page? How is most of your stuff free?

It takes one click to find the Pro version. And there are three other paid plans as well. But from what you wrote to another user, it makes it seem like this tool is new, is basically a free product, with a hidden upgrade because it's not terribly necessary, and you're giving everything away. In reality, it appears to be like most SaaS products with a very limited free tier, and plenty of upgrade opportunities.
Maybe the fact that I could simply use the free version to store hundreds of hour-long videos on the web and have a link to them, and not have advertising attached to them in any way - is that the big selling point here? Is it basically free storage, plus 5 videos can actually be embedded in active content?
I'm not meaning to degrade what you're offering... it's great! And free! Who would complain! I truly felt like I had the wrong link and went to the wrong site, because what I was seeing didn't match at all what I had read here first, on PH.
Can you help me understand? I appreciate you, and I appreciate your service and product.

We have a free offering which offers unlimited, ad-free video hosting for businesses. No limit on the length, number, bandwidth usage, or quality of videos for FREE! We do have a cap of 5 embedded videos on your website for the Free product only, which we've found works for most businesses and gives you tons of value from the product while still allowing us to maintain speed, reliability, and performance for everyone. If you find this is a limiting factor for you, let us know and we'll be happy to share some options.
In addition to offering our world-class video player and hosting, we also offer a Chrome Extension (https://chrome.google.com/websto...) that allows users to record their website and share their screen for fast and simple communication with their customers. I'd like to try it out. I don't in any way wish to imply that your offer is not generous. It's free - and I'm grateful. I just didn't understand how it all worked together and what I was seeing on this page, vs what I was seeing on your pages. Where can I find the Free Plan You're offering for PH folks? I love that Vidyard makes my marketing efforts so much more impactful by providing me the view data I need! Communication with everyone on my team and external agencies is so much easier via a quick video send.
