Simple to use application that is catered for regenerative agriculture testing. Birdβs-eye overview of your tasks, obligations, and to-do list. Everything you need to manage your projects.
Trying to figure out how to create a dynamic and holistic farming practices without making the software hard to use for family-owned/small farmers. Keeping it as simple as possible with the idea in mind that the main focus of regerative agriculture is constant testing and understanding different soil.
Congratulations on the launch! π I'm genuinely excited about this product.
You mentioned one of your end goals is to "make regenerative farming practices for small family-owned farms as simple as possible" but my impression from the explainer was more vague than this. However, I don't think that's a bad thing.
A couple scenarios came to mind as I envisioned myself using this:
* Can the workers see their current gps location relative to the task? (I must confess that I'm directionally incompetent and ask my kid what direction we just came from constantly - I'm getting better though :/ )
* Will there be internal messaging available under the current task?
For example, instead of messaging a person directly in a different window and trying to reference the task manually, can the worker tag the boss in the messaging section of the task like "@[Boss], there are two types here and one doesn't seem ready, please clarify" Or "@[Coworker1], I need help moving this/ you left your tool here"
* You also mentioned that it's a notebook. Would that include gps based data logging? Can a worker upload a picture of work done/ written notes about the job?
These are not criticisms, just imaginings :)
EDIT: I downloaded the app but I'm stuck at signing up because it says "The phone number is not correct. Please type full phone number and country code."
I'm in the US and added a 1, even googled how to format the phone number but I still get the error.
@danielle_withers
Hi Dani, thank you so much for the input. Let me tackle it one-by-one.
So to give you a little context of why the video is vague - we started off as a location-based notebook. Just a easy to use GPS located task list. Meaning you can organize your tasks by location. And then we talked with a bunch of businesses within different industries. And that approach was too vague. It did not solve any actual business problem for anyone. That's why we're trying to tackle regenerative farming. As small/family farming was our initial thought, but we ended up at the wrong direction product market fit wise.
1. Workers see their current location. Currently no. The core point would be to create a sort of map overview of tasks for farms. Easy to follow and delegate. But... From the workers perspective, when you do get your list of tasks, that would be actually a good benefit. Why not.
2. Messeging - we have reporting. It works as a commenting function under a task. So it's not like a whatsapp messenger, but you can actually leave your inuput + video & images. That's actually one of the mean features. So you have a complete overview of the task (based on the location).
This sounds like a bug :/, could you try +1 and then the number?
@vicinity_app1 +1########## worked! No spaces needed (whoops). Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice app, very easy to use.
And as for suggestion #1, I think you already have it built in. I just have to hit the GPS icon again in the search bar and it goes right to where I am. If I pinch out just a little I can see my location relative to the pin. Nice.
As for suggestion #2, that's exactly what I had in mind, sorry if I didn't explain it properly.
City parks and recreation might be interested in this as well.
