Hi everyone ✌️ I'm Tyler, the creator of Vibes. It's a surreal, slightly terrifying, but ultimately incredible day because I get to reveal what I've been working on for the past few months. Like many of you, I'm a longtime lover of new and emerging tech. Last summer, when Apple announced the Vision Pro, I turned into a giddy man-child with anticipation. I was absolutely blown away by the demos. I haven't felt that level of excitement about an upcoming product since I was a kid watching Steve Jobs announce the original 📱iPhone in 2007. I waited patiently for 8 months. The first time I tried on the Vision Pro, there was no doubt in my mind - the hype was real. My photos looked incredible, the demos were a lot of fun, and opening 3D models in augmented reality felt truly magical. While it's far from perfect, as a product designer, I immediately recognized its game-changing potential. Like the original iPhone launch, there was a noticeable lack of compelling apps and experiences for the Vision Pro on day one. Although some high-quality, immersive apps existed among the overpriced widgets and ported iPad apps, they were very difficult to discover. It was clear the established platforms were taking a ⏳ wait-and-see approach before investing resources into building for the new platform. A whole new dimension was emerging, where creators could experiment with novel media formats and flex their creative muscles. However, there was no centralized solution to share and discover these innovative spatial experiences, so I decided to build one. Introducing Vibes. Immerse yourself in a limitless feed, uncovering new projects, following your favorite creators, and join a growing community of like-minded explorers. What makes this different? 🤔 🤝 United by WebXR: While researching this idea, I realized I didn't need to build a native app to achieve the desired functionality. There was already a powerful community of developers using tools like A-Frame, Three.js, 8th Wall, and more. Instead of building for a few hundred thousand Vision Pro owners, I could reach an additional 5 billion by creating an intuitive experience right in the browser. 🤯 Too often, people are tribal about their preferred technology. I want Vibes to be neutral ground that celebrates mixed reality, regardless of the hardware you're experiencing it on. The browser is the one place where that's possible, reminding me once again, of Steve Jobs and his original vision for a web based iPhone App Store. 🛍️ Brand engagement: Imagine dropping a product in front of customers at a true 1:1 scale, educating them through interactive experiences, or teleporting fans into entirely new worlds. This is a novel concept that represents an evolutionary shift away from flat, 2D social feeds. Brands can now forge deeper connections by immersing audiences in their narratives like never before. 🧑‍💻 3D, democratized: Technological advancements and intuitive design tools are making it easier for beginners to create 3D and immersive content. We utilize openUSD standards to integrate creations from tools like Blender, Maya, and photogrammetry apps. With support for USDZ and real 360° environments, it provides an accessible ecosystem showcasing the broadening immersive 3D artistry. 🤑 And the best part – it’s all free.
Thanks for your attention and support. We’re slowly rolling out 💌 invitations, please reach out if you’d like to schedule a demo for vendors or stay updated on the project here https://vibes.vision/#sign-up
Scabidi
Looks cool, is it possible to make these into a video, (I am making a video platform named Scabidi Aero and I want it to look active with high quality videos)
