Love this. I've been hiring over the last few months and have had to rely on a combination of Google Docs, Forms, Wistia's Soapbox, Trello and a handful of job posting sites. To see a software tackling the vast majority of what has been a grind to create is awesome. Excited to see what's next and give this a try in the months to come. Side note -- When I click on the link above, I'm met with: Hi there! πŸ‘‹ Hey Hi there! πŸ‘‹ Hey

@thecoolestcool hey Ross -- hmmm, that's not good. We got a little creative with the chat-based landing page. This is the direct link to the registration page! https://app.vervoe.com/register/...

I took 30 mins to write a great script to hire a crypto/ICO community manager, but even pre-launch I've already had a payout that made the effort more than worth my hourly rate! And the next time that I hire someone in a field I don't fully understand, I'm going to ask Vervoe!
Omer Molad
@kikischirr we're really glad to hear it! Btw, are ICOs a big thing right now? ;)

Very cool, working with Virtual assistants over the years this seems like a great idea. It's hard to work the line of trying to properly vet potential candidates and getting them to do work for free. This seems like a great opportunity to make the hiring process easier. I already have a team of interns I am looking forward to trying this out with.

I've been working with Vervoe all year and have been super excited about what they have to unveil to the world. @omermolad and @david_weinberg are changing the face of hiring in a super authentic and smart way. As I mentioned in a review above, I wrote a script for their Experts Community for hiring a Customer Success Consultant for an early-stage SaaS and to my surprise someone bought it within a week or two. I was absolutely delighted. 😊

I wrote a script for their Experts Community for hiring a Customer Success Consultant for an early-stage SaaS and to my surprise someone bought it within a week or two. Delightful experience!

Pros:

I was able to easily write a script and I already got paid for it!

Cons:

Their platform is super new so of course there's a few things to iron out. :)

This is everything I needed when I was hiring for startup marketing roles years ago. Hiring is especially complicated at a startup. You can't hire before the need is there, but when the need is there, everyone has to work double time for months while the right person is recruited. Thanks for sharing this!
Omer Molad
@shanelle_mullin really amazing feedback -- that's the exact pain point we hear about all the time. Appreciate it!
Conrad Egusa
Congrats Omer, Nichole & team!
Omer Molad
@conradegusa thanks Conrad! πŸ‘Š
Mark Pekel
So excited to see this community live, going to check it out!
Omer Molad
@haimpekel Thanks Haim :)

I created a script for our company, hired someone with it and it was an extremely easy process. I then posted the script to the public and a couple other companies have used it. Pretty cool experience and a much better way of hiring.

Pros:

Great to have scripts created from experts, extremely helpful head start for hiring and getting paid for your submissions is a plus

Cons:

Platform still being ironed out

Trevor Hatfield
Such a better way of looking at hiring. Getting experts onboard to create scripts just adds to an already helpful hiring platform. Look forward to seeing the community grow. Great work Vervoe team!
Omer Molad
@trevorhatfield you're spot on -- we've been waiting awhile to start leveraging experts, and think it'll make all the difference for companies who want to hire better. πŸ™

This is definitely an interesting product, particularly because the process of hiring can be such a blackbox for people who haven't done it before. Shortening that process through this kind of efficiency has the potential to matchmake significantly more people with the right companies it seems. Also of value is the culture factor, which we in startups take so seriously; knowing the right questions to ask a candidate--especially when those questions might be unique to a certain niche of an industry--have the potential not only to affect the company's hiring prospects, but shift the focus of the company to where it will be most beneficial long-term.
Omer Molad
@adammarx13 the "blackbox" you mentioned is *exactly* where the Experts Community comes in (i.e. how does a generalist CEO really know the technical questions to ask when hiring her first in-house marketer?). You're on point!
Stefanie Grieser
All signed up (have yet to create my first script). But on first glance, Vervoe solves a very real pain. I know because I've experienced it first-hand. Hiring takes a ton of time, yet is so critical to get right (especially for a startup).
Omer Molad
@smgrieser thanks Stefanie, looking forward to collaborating with you!
Ashley Greene
I'm digging what they are doing -- I like being able to choose from scripts when hiring outside my area of expertise and a much better way to hire than your standard ATS.
Omer Molad
@ashleykgreene Thanks Ashley πŸ‘
Brittany Berger
Having been on both sides of this experience, I can't even decide which one was more frustrating/nightmarish. This is so needed - can't wait to explore it further!
Omer Molad
@thatbberg Looking forward to seeing your assessments Brittany.
Cara Hogan
I've always been a believer in actually testing a candidate's skills before hiring them. I ask content candidates to do a sample blog post as part of the interview process. It's great to see a company recognizing this is important and creating a usable system to accomplish this at scale.
Omer Molad
@carahogan27 Thanks Cara! Looking forward to seeing your content assessments πŸ˜‰
Tom Benattar
Sounds really awesome! Congrats to all the team πŸ™Œ
Omer Molad
@tombenattar thanks -- we think it's going to help a whole lot of startups!
Jan Kuzel
I know the whole Vervoe team and I believe they're building something that in time will grow to a very recognizable authority in what they do. The experts community is one of those things that you want to be in early on, because later you might benefit from it in a huge way. For anyone who wants to be recognized as an expert and grow their influence, this is a must. Given it will only take a little bit of time and you might be the first person to contribute with your expertise for your specific niche. When you establish yourself early on as a top authority within the community, you will grow with it and come out at top as it gets bigger and bigger.
David Weinberg
@kuzeljan Thanks Jan!!
Alex Birkett
Looks awesome! Hiring is a huge bottleneck for startups and almost no one gets it right with a few (or many) hiccups. Pulling knowledge from those who have already experienced those hiccups and smoothed out their own process is a great idea.
Omer Molad
@iamalexbirkett Thanks Alex, that’s a great way to describe it actually!
Georgiana Laudi
I wrote a script for Vervoe's expert community (and was paid for it within a week or so, to my surprise) and while, yes, the platform is new, it was pretty straightforward, no major hiccups at all. The idea is pretty cool, would have been even cooler had this come along a few years ago though! Building my team, quickly, with quality people was one of the hardest parts of my job. This would have definitely streamlined that process for me.
Omer Molad
@ggiiaa Thanks Georgiana! Awesome feedback. Wish we did this a few years ago as well πŸ˜€
Matt Lugo
Love this on so many levels! Re-imaging the hiring process in a way that actually makes interviewing fun and allowing candidates to shine!
Omer Molad
@wwmld Thanks a heap Matt πŸ˜€
