Save 50% on your next AWS bill. Vantage Autopilot applies cost savings on your behalf by automatically buying and selling Reserved Instances. There are no upfront commitments or infrastructure changes. Connect your AWS account to start saving.
Today we’re excited to launch Autopilot: A managed service for automatically reducing your AWS spend, starting with EC2. No infrastructure changes are needed and you can get going in a few clicks.
Since working at DigitalOcean and AWS, I have seen how difficult it is for customers to get visibility on what they’re paying for with cloud services. Cost visibility and transparency is the first problem we tackled with Vantage. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive since our initial launch and we launched Cost Recommendations, Financial Planning, and Issues to help users get the most out of Vantage since then. Here’s our original PH post from about a year ago: https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Until this point, customers always had to take action themselves to save money…and what we’ve found is no one wants to manage this themselves. Autopilot is the first time we have been able to *automatically* save customers money with no action needed by them. Autopilot buys reserved instances based on compute usage and automatically sells out of them if usage patterns change - resulting in up to 50% discounts. Vantage takes a small cut of savings that comes your way each month so if we don’t find any savings, you don’t pay us a dime.
I think Autopilot can be a very helpful product for makers of all sizes who are cost-conscious. With this Product Hunt launch, we’re waiving our cut of savings for the first month and we’ll be sharing stories of all the savings at https://twitter.com/JoinVantage.
@bensign Congratulations on the launch!
Vantage Autopilot could be addressing the need-gap: 'Business scale based alerts' - https://needgap.com/problems/205... posted on my problem validation forum.
You're welcomed to explain how Vantage Autopilot addresses that problem, So those who need it can find it easily.
?makers Congrats on launch! In the future will Vantage work with suggesting savings plans? At my last company they made purchasing RIs obsolete, but it was still a process to purchase the correct amount on a savings plan

@awoldes Hey Austin! Good question. Savings Plans and RIs ultimately grant the same discounts but have the downside of being unable to sell out of....which poses a high risk of overcommitment.
Today we have two features that encompass Savings Plans: (1) automated cost recommendations which tell you which savings plans to buy and (2) Savings Planner, a financial planning tool for modeling and planning savings plans purchases.
I'd wager that we likely will never buy Savings Plans on behalf of customers but hope to give you visibility into which Savings Plans to buy.
@awoldes Yes! Today there are Savings Plan tools in Vantage https://vantage.sh/features/fina... but soon users will be able to make this happen automatically with Autopilot
I’m thrilled to help Ben and the Vantage team launch a product that meets the moment.
Vantage Autopilot automatically saves 50% on your cloud bill. The operators and portfolio CEOs I’ve been talking to recently have told me that cutting costs is the top priority for them right now.
If you help manage infrastructure, if you’re trying to find quick savings wins, or if you think your monthly cloud bill is too high - you’ll love Autopilot from Vantage.
@tom4 Thanks and good question! Autopilot currently only handles EC2 but we have plans for expanding beyond that.
That being said, we have automated cost recommendations when you sign up and connect your AWS account. For serverless, we'll provide you with a Savings Plan recommendation which is the savings mechanism for Lambda and Fargate. The discounts there are a bit less but still can be 10-20%. Give it a shot and see what you find!
