Through our journey of building CloudDevs, working closely with startups, and interviewing founders through the Founder Story podcast, we realized that there was an increasing demand in the startup landscape for cheaper alternatives for tech talent hiring.
The current economic conditions are forcing bootstrapped, seed, and pre-seed startups to cut costs in order to extend their runway, which means that they could not spend the big bucks on hiring developers from Latams or Europe, nor could they hire from some of the major talent platforms out there. But at the same time, they needed to hire elite talent to guarantee high-quality output.
And we felt we were in a position to help! Over the last couple of years, we’ve slowly worked towards expanding the CloudDevs portfolio from only serving US-based clients with LatAm talents, to creating a more global solution for our non-venture funded clients, by offering talents that are sourced internationally.

@alcaan Great great idea! Although I have 1 question for you - how do you ensure that the developer I hire is working productively / deep working every hour that I'm paying for? Do you have any integrations with good time tracking tools?
@alcaan @varun_kodnani really dude?! That's extreme micro-managing. You can tell the developer the min amount of hours you want them to work. Problem solved.
@varun_kodnani We use screen.io to track our devs' activity, such as the apps used and URLs being visited. This allows us to ensure that they're performing to their best ability and being productive.
The product I have cofounded, Flowace also helps with auto time tracking & there’s an intuitive privacy mode when the users want to take a break. It also tells you how much time users have spent on productive apps & URLs. We can look at an integration if you’re interested!

My only gripe is what if the developer came from a FAANG company and moved up to Sr by his 3rd year -- is he/she unable to apply as a Unicorn Dev? Since you have a minimum of 5 years to be considered. In the Bay Area, Sr. level roles are considered 3+ yrs because the talent pool is so deep.
