Good one, yet again @sunilkhedar84@nishith_shah and everyone at PLG. This would be great for onboarding new devs on the stack without overwhelming them with multiple caching services that exist in the code.
Hello PH family! ๐๐ป - Iโm Sunil, Founder of PLG Works (https://plgworks.com/) and the builder of our latest product - UniCache!
Many thanks for hunting us @nishith_shah! ๐
๐ฅ All tech teams all around the world use caching to increase data retrieval performance by reducing the need to access the underlying slower storage layer. Interacting with multiple caching engines requires time and effort.
โก๏ธ So here is UniCache! It is an NPM package that provides a singleton interface and behaviour for Memcached, Redis and In-memory caching. Easily interact or switch between them in minutes!
UniCache abstracts the unnecessary deviations between the base packages, in turn helping you learn about and interact with 3 different caching engines (Memcached, Redis and In-memory) all at once. The Singleton interface of UniCache is not only compatible with Memcached and Redis but also with In-Memory cache. If you have to juggle multiple caching engines simultaneously, UniCache will help in faster development.
๐ฅ Using UniCache will help you minimise dev efforts, saving you money and time. Be rest assured that your code will not need any further changes in order to use the upcoming base NPM package versions. UniCache will take care of it.
Hereโs what all you get with UniCache:
๐Learning Curve Made Easy
Interact with different caching engines all at once!
โ๐ป In-Memory Caching functionality
Not only compatible with Memcached and Redis but also In-Memory cache. One interface for all!
๐ Interact with multiple caching engines
Helps developers reduce the translation layer for input and output - thus reducing development time and effort!
And the most important thing! UniCache is OpenSource, so you can easily integrate quickly and get started! As a PH special, we have 5 free consultations for 30 mins each with our experts. Come let's build together๐
Exciting and useful idea put into practice. Very excited for this. Wish you all the best team. Am gonna give a try and am sure many more will be excited to use it as well
@at_abis Yup! Moreover having the same singleton interface for in-memory same as that for redis and memcached will add additional value. Please suggest any improvement/issues you face while integrating.
@sann1993 Thanks Santhosh! We encourage and invite you to join hands in making UniCache better. Here is our GitHub repo - https://github.com/PLG-Works/Uni... Please raise issues for bugs and enhancements.
@varunrazora Yes, that's the goal. UniCache will interact with Redis, Memcached and In-Memory Cache. Server only needs to talk to UniCache. UniCache will handle the rest.
