For me, the secret sauce is early engagement with my audience. I start building hype weeks before the launch through social media and email updates. It creates a buzz and get people excited about the launch day.

Great question! The best part about a great Product Hunt launch is that it all comes down to good planning and knowing who you’re aiming for. Nail those two things, and you've got the foundation to stand out. First, know your audience. If you’re not speaking their language, your launch might just fall flat. Then, get started early. A great launch doesn’t happen overnight. It might take a good 4-6 weeks, sometimes even more. Build your base. Use social media (especially Buildinpublic on Twitter), newsletters. Make sure you’ve got a squad ready to back you up on launch day. That's 80% of the secret.

from what I have seen - active engagement with the community and low expectations. It also seems like folks tend to pay a set of the same people to promote their lists outside of the PH environment - that seems to help unless its flagged of course.
