Looks interesting! Hopefully audiences will grow with this!

@iboshoer Thank you! We've seen some great uptake by subscribers already. I think it's a great model for creators who want to grow authentic audiences outside of the usual content aggregation platforms and social media platforms.

How is this different from Medium?
Jack
@aafable Good question. They're two very different models. With Unalike, publications get to set their subscription prices individually. Medium is based on an overall platform subscription and the partner program. A few platforms exist like this, that either pay advertising profits to writers or have an overall subscription that pays out based on consumption. Unalike gives publications and creators more control on how they distribute their publication, the look and feel, and how content is consumed. There's a heavy focus on the editing tools and experience too, with rich media at the heart of that. Hope that explains it a bit better.

I'm really excited to share Unalike on Product Hunt today 🥳 From my original idea many years ago, it's hard to believe it's finally out in the public and here. This is something I've always wanted to create, and something that encapsulates a lot of my passions directly and indirectly. I've been working on this for the last 12 months after finally take the leap and going all-in on development and design. After years in the media and publishing world, I was fed up watching writers and publishers at the whim of big-tech and advertising, a world devoid of ownership and creative freedom, so I created Unalike. The mission, to give control back to writers, creators, journalists, and publishers, with tools that reimagine the way they create written, audio, and visual stories. And why subscriptions? Publishing still has two main models at the moment, either free or advertising. Subscription is growing, but a lot of platforms still miss the point. We want to give value back to the original creators and teams, with content payment and subscription audiences that support independence. With no advertising, no likes, and no tracking at the core of the design. Reducing the friction of creative expression with a space free from the distractions. It’s an idea with an ambitious goal for sure, but I’m looking forward to what 2020 brings. Growing Unalike into a larger community of creators and readers, bringing more people on board, and getting some more investment. Big steps and daunting, but exciting. Looking forward to all the feedback 🙂 Thank you!
