UltraWideo 2.0 — Cross-browser extension that manipulates video aspect ratio.
Cross-browser extension that works in all browsers (except Safari).
It manipulates the aspect ratio of the video the currently watched video that is in full-screen. Enjoy the better experience on all screens, especially on UltraWide ones.

This extension totally saved my life! I really love how simple it is to use and it completely solves my screens aspect ratio problem. Kudos to the developers!

I've really considered switching to an ultrawide monitor at some point. I'll have to remember this if I ever do. @dvlden What are the benefits for non-ultrawide users?
@jakecrump Thank you for your comment. I'm also using this extension on my Macbook Pro, both 15" and 13" and it helps when using the Upscale mode to remove the minor vertical black bars that can be present on some videos. That said, it helps with both vertical and horizontal black bars.
And people using it on Firefox Android are giving nice feedback, saying that it solves some bug with videos. I don't have an android, nor it was intentional to make some kind of fix, but I'm happy that it magically happened.
Your work is awesome, but it stopped working on latest Firefox release for Android. Can you fix that in the near future?
@leroypatel Yes, that has been fixed actually, but people need to send e-mail to Firefox to set UltraWideo as "Recommended" extension.
When I initially purchased the ultrawide monitor – 34", I was amazed by how many things I can add on my screen and stay productive.
After all of the amazing things that I could say about the ultrawide screen when I jumped on YouTube, I noticed that video watching experience is a disaster. A lot of unused, blank, black space.
After some quick research, I was able to find a couple of Chrome extensions that attempt to fix this problem. However, all of them are platform-specific and do not work everywhere.
It wasn't good enough for me. I did not want to install too many extensions that serve the same purpose but work on different video streaming services.
I had to change that immediately and I developed this extension.
This extension is the only on the market, with the following features:
• Works everywhere (minor exceptions exist, but irrelevant)
• Works on all embeddable videos
• Helps ultrawide and non-ultrawide users
• Secretly solves a bug for Firefox Android users
• Has clean UI
• Small bundle size
I am the long-term Firefox user and this is the only extension that actually does what it describes.

It's unfortunate that this extension is not broadly known. A lot of people are using other extensions that are not even close to this one...
