Use ChatGPT with enhanced features like fast response, chat search, integrations, prompt library, etc.
Use your own API Key, run locally on your browser, macOS App, and self-host available.
Hello everyone! It's Tony π
I was so annoyed by how ChatGPT slowly typed out the answers + kept logging me out every day, so I built a new UI on top of its API.
Introducing https://typingmind.com β¨
Over the past week, I have added so many convenience features to enhance the overall chatting experience with ChatGPT. I'm so excited to share it with you all here.
You will to have your OpenAI API key in order to use the app.
You can buy a license key to unlock all the features like prompt library, chat history search, AI characters, macOS app, self-host option, etc.
Would love to hear all your feedback! Thank you! π
Love the product, keep up the good work @trungdq88! Was wondering though, since you use the API of ChatGPT is there a way for you to build in a feature to paste in longer data?
Let's say you have a piece of content of 10K words and you want it summarized, with standard ChatGPT you're running into limits when pasting in your content. Is there a way for you to build it that chunks it up and like this, circumvents these limits and allows for bigger data sets to work with?
Getting fed up with the "The message you submitted was too long, please reload the conversation and submit something shorter." and looking for ways around that.
If youβve add that, that would make it a total game changer!
@trungdq88@jcvangent The token limit is for the whole chat, including history (as far as I know). You could combine all the summaries, save them in a DB, and feed the smaller summaries back in ChatGPT. Not sure if that will yield great results though.
Maybe GPT-4 will improve?
@remco_strij your process sounds exactly something you would do with an api tool like this indeed, while we cross our fingers that chatgpt 4 will allow it easier
Just purchased it, should've done it yesterday at the early bird fee but hadn't have the time to review it! Congrats on the launch and product @trungdq88! Second buy of a Tony's product from me! :D
Congrats Tony! Your UI is neat and the product is awesome π
I have been following on Twitter for a while. I love your speed of execution. It took you a few days to launch this product which is insane efficiency. You always seem to favor one time purchase business models, though. Can I ask you why?
@trungdq88 this is great!
Too bad OpenAI doesn't offer OAuth so users don't have to trust API keys to third parties.
BTW @trungdq88 do you have any plans on offering a self-hosted version with the API stored on the back end side?
I'd definitely purchase the app then, because local storage is not considered a secure place.
Check out this OWASP page about security implications of using browser's local storage (this is what TypingMind is using currently): https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.o...
Love this tool as it makes ChatGPT quite usable. I didn't use ChatGPT before, but I am now finding many use-cases for it with a TypingMind interface. Such a simple idea, and you can count on Tony for great execution.
Looks awesome Tony! Well timed too, with ChatGPT seemingly suffering this past week or so - I've struggled to get access to my chat history. Local chat history is a game changer!
Best of luck!
Very cool - was something I was building with a friend - but no longer - no point - Tony has cracked it already - so just bought his instead. Save me the time. Love it. Kinda...
I had one question: How do you handle the API keys. When he said they're stored locally, I thought. I'm buying it right now. It helped that Tony is one of my favorite makers and I had just seen a break down of how much cheaper it is to use the API over ChatGPT plus.
Nice one Tony!
