Twilio (now public and doing very well) is taking a big swing at Salesforce, Hubspot, Zendesk, Intercom, and other CRM/customer management tools.
They also launched Twilio Studio late last year, further diversifying their offering beyond SMS messaging.
Interface looks great! I'd love to learn what the differences / similarities between this and TextIt.in and Rapidpro.io, particularly if they will be launching an SMS gateway via an android app to allow for two-way messaging via a local SIM card in basically any country, which is an option with TextIt that has (alongside of cloud gateways like Twilio and Nexmo). I'm excited to check it out whenever it is released.
The CRM space is heating up. Call center operators rejoice: if Twilio is already managing all of your outbound and inbound calls, it makes sense for them to expand in this direction.
