We've been using Tray for a while and love the power it gives us to integrate with tons of other tools, and do far more complex operations than other platforms in the space. It seems like they've nailed the balance between simplicity of setup and powerful dev-friendly advanced functionality.
Rich Waldron
Wow, thanks @mutlu82 for sharing. We're thrilled to open up Flows and our workflow editor today. Check out our blog for a deeper intro to flows: https://tray.io/blog/introducing... Please get in touch if you'd like help setting up your integration, or to have your service added as a connector on the platform (hit me up directly or hunt us down on tray.io or @tray). 🎉🍦🎉🍦🎉🍦🎉🍦🎉🍦🎉🍦

@richwaldron @mutlu82 @tray Great job guys. Time for us to add a Hive Tray connector I think! Can contact us at @jfurneaux or @hiveteams.

@richwaldron @mutlu82 @tray Interesting to me for a couple reasons (one, because I have integration in my title), but also 2) because I've spent the last couple months mapping out the integration space as we try to replace our aging (Actian Pervasive) platform. If there's a spectrum - and on one side, there's consumer (ifftt) through to power user Zapier (Gartner's 'citizen integrator' concept) through to Cloud Elements and then Snaplogic and then Informatica (heavy enterprise) on the other end, where do you guys see yourselves?
Rich Waldron
@shloky Hi Shlok - Great question. We see ourselves more akin to the heavier side of the spectrum in terms of our technical functionality. The core of our product is the workflow editor, it’s designed to be technical/developer friendly and support a broad stroke of integrations from simple point-point workflows, data migration, multi-step loops and more. We’ve spent a long time ensuring that it’s easy to onboard new connectors (in any language) and for customers to roll their own. Our take is that in order for these workflows to be accessible to everyone they require an entirely separate experience, which can be seen in ‘Flows’. Flows are a simple method to configure a pre-built workflow and get it running for our non-technical audience.

@richwaldron @shloky Could you please compare/contrast with http://www.pipefy.com/ ?
@shloky @richwaldron @mutlu82 @tray and you haven't even got us yet on the radar - we, @UnifiedVU are off the scale - and into virtual integration. There's also folks like Cazoomi (Disclaimer - I am a Board Advisor there). Thanks for the tip on CloudElements. Have not heard of them before..

The momentum is real! @jasoncraig23 could you share/demo how we could usetray with Fieldbook? Just basic actions to get feet yet 😄 . Btw I was asking you about zapier integrationon twitter yerterday. Cheers! 🎉
Saijo George
I am on the $20 plan with Zapier and that works for me but loving the logic editor in this one. Will add it to the list of alternative to consider when my usage grows. I **wish** there were a magic import my zaps from Zapier button for easy migration, if it ever comes to that. cc @richwaldron

We've been doing all sorts of cool stuff with Tray - especially useful in making our team's Slack experience more efficient and productive, as we pull data/events from Intercom, Clearbit API, Keen IO, Salesforce, etc. If their product wasn't good enough already, their team would've made up for it -- a lovely bunch of people who go out of their way to listen to their community. Cheers to this milestone, team!
Rich Waldron
@timfalls very kind of you to say, thank you Tim
Marshall
@RichWaldron @tray This looks extremely promising. Zapier and IFTTT have 15 minute intervals. Is there a similar time restraint on your product?
Rich Waldron
@hypecraft No, there is no time restraint.
Ryan J A Murphy
Classic question: why this over Zapier/IFTTT? How's it differentiated?
Andrew Allsop
@ryanjamurphy For me Zapier is linear in how it works, data comes in and it triggers something else. Tray.io looks like it's a lot better for building more complicated workflows as you can use time delays, loops and Boolean arguments. A product doesn't have to be significantly different to be able to provide a significantly better fit for a markets problems. This is the beauty of the maker revolution - it's making technology more fragmented just like media has become. You can now find something that's a better fit to your needs at the most granular level.
Matt Sornson
@ryanjamurphy Echoing my first thought exactly :) However, I can build things with Tray that are impossible with the others. Instead of the standard "if this then that" with Zapier/IFTTT. I can do an "if this -> then that and another that -> then push the results through a filter -> and finally add them to salesforce (or any of my other integrations). Tray has steadily started replacing my folder of cron jobs over the past two months.
Elia Morling
@andrewallsop ok trying to understand...this is like zapier but with the ability to add logic? This is IFTTT if an IFTTT happens? 😄
@andrewallsop @ryanjamurphy have you tried Manchester's FlowXO Andrew?
Justin Mares
@mattsornson @ryanjamurphy Didn't Zapier just add ability to set up Workflows?
Dylan Smith
Does the service work with virtually any API that can be connected? There are certain things that Zapier does that are awesome but its is fairly basic and can only scratch the surface. Where is the list of supported apps?
Rich Waldron
@dielawn714 Hi Dylan - Yes, the quickest route for that at the moment is to use the Generic HTTP connector which is fairly robust for making calls to any REST endpoints. More coming soon on adding your own connector and the process for doing so. We currently don't have a running list of supported services (sorry) - Grab us on support@tray.io, we'd love to help out.

This is very exciting @richwaldron. I've been doing some crazy multi-stage Zaps up until now, but was often limited in what I could do. Both the visual builder and the added flexibility in the data transformation just makes my mind go nuts seeing what I can now create. Growth Hacks here I come!
Jeremy Gollehon
This looks very cool! I loved the sign-up flow. Any of the try.io team work on Yahoo Pipes. This feels very similar.
Walter Reid
Waiting for the day when someone will build a "powerful integration between any service" that instead connects those integrations together. That way I don't have to play favorites and can instead have Tray, Zapier and IFTTT without the mess of 3 accounts.

I've been building on Tray for a couple months now, and it's been a complete blast. I'm primarily a frontend developer so my initial reaction was "holy shit, this builder UI is _very_ well done"... as it turns out, that quality is consistent through their whole company. The entire tool is stellar - easy to use, easy to understand - and the company is great as well. They've been incredibly responsive to my questions/feedback/ramblings - sometimes pumping out feature requests in the same day! Right now I'm primarily building out tooling for our support system, so integrating Intercom into all of the things... email, slack, close.io, etc. It's been great - I'm planning some sales ops stuff in the near future too, which I'm sure Tray is going to be great for.
John Chaplin
Love the product and have worked with the Tray sales team, but would be good to get trained and access to the product. I could sell it if I could get in and use it.
Dan Dukeson
Tray are a really smart team and they have built something really interesting here. Such a big problem to solve bringing all these integrations together.
Orien Wu
I've been working with the guys at tray for several months now, and watching their product evolve and grow has been splendid. Excited for all the opportunities this platform opens up for us.
George Bennett
Most infuriating sign up process i have ever encountered. We have not tried the product, but i already hate this company.
Tristan Pollock
Tray unbundles code in a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious simple way 😍
Mr. Wilson
The integration is great. I don't think I've seen such a deep workflow process. Excellent work guys
@mager
This platform is amazing. I am integrating our API ASAP.
Georgi Georgiev ✌
I met the founders in London last year. Love this product. Well dine guys!
