Daniel Liebeskind here, CEO and co-founder of Topia. For many years, our team has been imagining ways to improve how people socialize online and how creators can earn financial freedom by creating experiences that bring people together.
We’re launching Topia 2.0 today with a completely rebuilt platform and new features for creators and confluencers.
What is a confluencer?
It’s someone who curates an experience and brings people together to become a community.
With an increasingly remote and distributed world, it’s important that we find ways to get together online for fun, play, and serendipity. We believe in the power of authentic human connection and experiences, that communities should have the power to make themselves accessible by anyone around the world, and that safety and consent are the cornerstone of a healthy internet.

What's New?
A lot has changed since our first launch here last December. Thousands of communities and companies have used Topia to gather and connect online, with ~400 unique events taking place every week.

💜 !Topia more than words can convey. Here's been our journey so far...
On May 9th, @dliebeskind texted me the link to Topia v0.
Within weeks, we’d moved all of our gatherings and community in-world.
On May 30th, it became the virtual venue for our engagement party.
In June, I hosted my birthday party on/in Topia’s Burning Man demo.
Through July, we started creating in-world apps and experiences.
In August, we spent a week playing on Topia’s pixelated Playa.
By September, we’d started investing in all types of “surreal estate”.
In November, my partner and I hosted our 11-day wedding festival in our world.
Today, we’re hosting Confluence Con 2021 entirely in-world. Join us for this 24-hour event centered around the art and business of bringing people together featuring over 45 speakers (including @alexisohanian) across 35 panels, workshops, and gatherings.

I tried the first version of Topia earlier this year and was completely blown away. I may be a tech entrepreneur but I used to be an architect and urban planner. Topia is the mental map for teams. The land keeps expanding and getting more complex with time, exactly like a startup company.
For that reason I'm voting for you big time today, the same day we're launching Neo 3.0 on Product Hunt. I don't care about ranking, I care about great products and great people. And Topia is exactly that: a great product built by great people. Keep up the good work @dliebeskind @alexisohanian @alex_king9 :)

Really interesting approach with endless possibilities. It still does not perform very well on mobile, but expect to have a version that will soon. If you have not tried it yet, I invite you to get around and try it, it will be a very interesting experience.

@adam_madden it has been a pretty intense year, but we are really proud of what Topia has become and where it's going. Confluencer Con 2021 is our way of showing the world that Topia is ready for whatever you can imagine.

The platform has been completely rebuilt from scratch since the original launch. In addition to some of the things I listed in my maker comment, we now have:
- A brand new UI
- Tons of new features like consent-based following, private zones (for having private group conversations), broadcast 'podiums' for panels and Q&A, embedded live stream video like Twitch and Youtube, a world map, teleporting, and much more
- A highly performant architecture capable of handling thousands of people in a single world at very low cost
- An event and world discovery portal to make it easier to bring people together (be a confluencer)
-Advanced world building tools like fine-tuning of the 2.5D layering
This is truly just the beginning 😊
I discovered Topia after digging around for a user-friendly space to host events and I'm amazed at its simplicity and the idea of people having the freedom to group and share ideas based on their location on the map. But Topia goes so much further than this. Its features are very advanced and provide many applications for building communities and sharing spaces. I'm sharing this with many people at the moment and using Topia to host a virtual concert soon! Thanks T-Team!
