A couple years ago I started noticing a ringing in my ears. It was sporadic, but annoying. Over time it got worse (louder and more frequent).
Now it’s essentially constant, and it can be frustrating to live with.
It’s called tinnitus, and there is no cure for it.
There are various studies out there, and some anecdotes from others on forums. What works for some doesn't always work for others. But no therapy or remedy alleviates it entirely.
That’s when I came across ACRN Therapy. ACRN Stands for Acoustic Coordinated Reset Neuromodulation. There’s a white paper that discusses the method and their findings, which are pretty promising.

It works by identifying your tinnitus frequency and then playing a series of tones that dance around that frequency. It can be enough to “trick” your brain into reducing (or eliminating) the ringing for a period of time.
I decided to write an app I could use to implement the ACRN therapy technique on my phone.
This is why I made Tonal Therapy.
If you suffer from tinnitus, I hope you’ll give it a try. And please let me know your results!

Great app. Tonal treatment is really effective against tinnitus. I know from my own experience. Actually, there are several sound therapy treatments (I was explained by an audiologist at the hearing aids staten island clinic). I'm currently using a Neuromonics device. It works for me. And now I can also use the Tonal Therapy application. Such things really ease the lives of tinnitus sufferers.
