Hello everybody! I am Jess, maker of tinythoughts. I created tinythoughts, the web app, a year and a half ago, because I liked the idea of journaling but wanted a way to make it easier for myself and others. Most of the features of tinythoughts (low character count, prompts, notifications) were borne of the desire to make journaling more accessible. I am excited to announce that tinythoughts is now available natively for iOS and Android! Journaling is now even easier, because now you can do it in bed, on the bus, or on the toilet. I am excited to hear what you all think! Do you aspire to take up the habit of journaling? What do you think would help you keep a more consistent journaling routine?

@jrobins hey Jess this is amazing. Lets have a local Washington D.C. Product Hunt Event in the end of January
Jess Solka
@vladkorobov Thanks! That would be fun. I haven't been to a DC Product Hunt event before!

Love this! The prompts are so positive and thoughtful, it really helps me reflect on my day. Much easier than journaling.
Jess Solka
@john_mcdaniel Thank you! Related to prompts, we are thinking about in the future having a feature to be able to customize the type of prompt you see. So you would choose a setting to say what kind of journal you want to have: - Unprompted: Hides the prompts, if you aren't using them - Daily prompt: Prompts that are different every day, like it is now - Gratitude journal: The prompt is always "What are you grateful for?" - Mood journal: The prompt is always "How was your mood today?" or other single prompts that are the same every day. I am still trying to figure out if that is a feature that would be useful to people.

@jrobins I think it would be cool to be able to customize a mix of prompt types. Maybe the ability to set a certain type by day of the week, like maybe you want to always check your mood on mondays but you want to express gratitude on Tuesdays for example. Just an idea, but either way I think the different prompt settings would be great!
Jess Solka
@john_mcdaniel I love the idea of customizing based on day of the week!

How do you add journals for previous days?
Jess Solka
Hey @pious , thanks so much for your question! We don't currently support adding journal entries for previous days, but it is definitely on the roadmap. I think the tricky thing to figure out for this feature is what the UX would look like. We will definitely be announcing the feature in the newsletter once it's shipped though so feel free to sign up for that (you should have gotten a link to opt into emails after signing up for tinythoughts, or I can send you a new link) or follow me on Product Hunt!
