Timeless replaces the standard clock with a more subtle time indicator. It removes distraction and stops the time from affecting your mood, reducing time anxiety in the process. It's been tested for months and I'm delighted to launch this at the start of 2020!

The start of the new year is a great time to begin reducing stress and consider potential distractions. That’s why I’m delighted to announce I’m launching my time anxiety reducing Mac app called Timeless today! 🚀 Timeless replaces the standard clock with a more subtle time indicator. It’s been tested for months, got encouraging comments on Reddit and the beta was even featured in FastCompany’s ‘best new apps of 2019’. The clock can be a distraction for me. It imposes stress and distracts me while I try to get work done and sometimes even when I’m trying to relax. If you’re anything like me, these will sound familiar: 10.00: "Only 10 am?? It feels like I’ve been doing nothing." 11.30: "Better not start something new, it’ll be lunch soon." 14.00: "Sheesh this day is never going to end…" 16.00: "It’s already 4 pm?? I did nothing today and it’s too late to start now." Showing Timeless' indicator instead of the actual time stops the clock from affecting my mood. I no longer start watching YouTube videos when it's 11.45 for example. 😅 Here's how that works. I setup a bunch of ranges from 8 am tot 12 pm, 12 pm to 3 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm for example. Timeless indicates the range the current time is in between. Say it's 11.45 am, then it shows the 8 am to 12 pm range. Instead of thinking: "Oh it's almost lunch, better start watching YouTube videos instead of sending this email", I just start on the email. Timeless been in my menu bar since I created the first, rough version and I can’t imagine not using it anymore. Used in conjunction with reminders and my calendar, it keeps me from glancing at the clock whenever I’m at my Mac. For me, that’s a huge stress reducer and I’d love to know if it works for you too! 😊 Photo in header by Filip Zrnzević on Unsplash

A subtle way to help change the culture of people incessantly checking the time. I dig it!

Thanks for sharing but i equally found another product and I am incredibly thankful I found this product through Instagram! I have been using YooForic hemp oil since the beginning of this year to target my anxiety and horrible sleep patterns and I’m amazed by the results! I am finally more at ease and can't wait to continue using this product especially because like many people, I get time anxiety! As for my sleep after i take a full drop of the oil I’m out like a light until the next morning! What more could i ask for?! Love this company and would without a doubt recommend it!

Love this idea! Was wondering if there can also be a version where you set a start and end time and the circle will fill like a timer? ex. for 9-5 office hours around 1 the circle will be half full, etc.
Boy van Amstel
@david_ramalho1 Thanks! I’ve been asked before about the timer idea and I’m still deciding whether it can be a feature, or if it should be a separate app. Showing a countdown isn’t really ‘timeless’; you can still make out what time it is. Right? 🤔
David Ramalho
@boyvanamstel totally fair point. I also seem to have come across a bug, no matter what segments I make it displays it as full even when it's at the beginning of the segment. For example, if I set a 9-5 segment, and it's only 11, the whole 9-5 segment in my menu bar is full already.
Boy van Amstel
@david_ramalho1 Hi David, that's actually by design. The point of Timeless is to show a range that the current time is in between. Not knowing whether it's 9.30 or 16.30 allows you to more freely do what you want. The range you specified is probably too wide. It works better if you set multiple smaller ranges, so you do have any idea of what part of the day you're in. From the intro: I setup a bunch of ranges from 8 am tot 12 pm, 12 pm to 3 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm for example. Timeless indicates the range the current time is in between. Say it's 11.45 am, then it shows the 8 am to 12 pm range. Instead of thinking: "Oh it's almost lunch, better start watching YouTube videos instead of sending this email", I just start on the email.

@david_ramalho1 No worries! I do like the countdown idea. It might be useful for meetings.

@david_ramalho1 @boyvanamstel would actually be cool as a separate app. Something like the Time Timer.

I like this idea, but maybe a ring and center dot should be dim, and "range" should be lighter (I don't know. Trying it is better than imaging it). A bug is, range cannot be automatically changed at the right time. It was changed after a few minutes (from the correct time I set). Fixing it will let me buy it. Thanks.
Boy van Amstel
@sunnyheart Hi there, thanks for your feedback. Interesting bug report. I’ll look into it, thanks!
Boy van Amstel
@sunnyheart I believe I’ve resolved the bug you described! Download v1.0.1, or update in-app and the segments should update as expected. 👌

I really like this concept. Thank you. It's also nice to read my own thoughts... ("10.00: "Only 10 am?? It feels like I’ve been doing nothing." 16.00: "It’s already 4 pm?? I did nothing today and it’s too late to start now.") Looking forward to improving my productivity with this tool.

@bridgette_bryant_the_bridge_ Glad to hear it! You're welcome. :) It's amazing how widespread 'clock dread' is. Hope it helps you get through your day more comfortably!
