We have been using this. It's amazingly smart, but the lack of drag and drop email builder makes it a bit difficult for non-tech people. Also, it requires a SendGrid account, so at the end you might end up paying for CampaignMonitor and get all in one box.
Andrew Smith
@denull Thanks much for the feedback, Dimo. A rich editor is on our roadmap. In the mean time, a workaround is for non-tech users to create their template in SendGrid's Marketing Campaigns and copy the HTML into the Threads editor. If you're available to set up a call we'd love to talk more about what you've seen work well (or less well).

Anything similar known?
Jonathan Knegtel
Hadn't seen this! As a user of Segment and still on the hunt for a marketing automation software this might just check all the right boxes. Does this pass information back to Segment? Like opens, clicks ect?
Andrew Smith
@jpknegtel Not today, but we are working with Segment to offer this functionality because we know it's valuable. Today, Threads consumes from Segment only.
Anant Garg
Am wondering how this is different from customer.io, clevertap, autosend and intercom?
Andrew Smith
@anant_garg These all provide similar functionality. Our goal for Threads is to be a focused, streamlined solution that offers more flexibility for the events you want to use as Triggers. Once those triggers are in place, it's all about empowering marketers to be able to get work done autonomously (set up workflows, test, and manage them to optimize). And, of course, we're proudly a part of SendGrid, so we offer proven deliverability and really strong support to our users.

@andrewbsmith - could you give us the backstory of this please :) What is the most common piece of feedback you have received so far? Also, what kind of information would you like to gain from the Product Hunt audience :)
Andrew Smith
@bentossell Threads by SendGrid is a new automated messaging platform that allows you to send email messages, webhooks and slack notifications in response to user behavior in real time. Designed to streamline developer effort and empower marketers, Threads offers endless event flexibility. As far as feedback we'd like: Let us know whether you're using automated messaging today, and if so, how? What pain points do you experience? Do you partner with your marketing team to make this messaging happen?
Donald Hruska
Would be cool to be able to pipe information into this as well, for abandoned cart emails for instance.
Molly Coughlin
@donaldhruska Would also be cool to use Threads to set up a welcome series and test content and timing to optimize... Then you could use a custom goal to see what variations best drive purchases.
Molly Coughlin
@donaldhruska Let us know if you'd be interested in setting up a call to brainstorm more ideas.

Looks like this product is going under wraps in Dec 2016 :-(
Spencer Yang
We've been using this for our app since launch. Works great.
Andrew Smith
@spenceryang Glad to hear it! If you're available to set up a call we'd love to talk more about what you've seen work well (or less well).
Bala S.
This is roughly we were looking for... Will try this with the team and send you guys some feedback.
Andrew Smith
@leanux_bala awesome, we'd love that! Our support team is available 24/7 via email and live chat should you have questions. If you're available to set up a call we'd love to talk more about your engagement needs.

Intercom does something very similar I believe - never the less the UI is slick, reminds me of dropbox a bit.
Andrew Smith
@rickats Thanks, Rick - we are continuing to tweak the UI to make it even better. Check back soon!
Molly Coughlin
We'd love for you guys to check out Threads and share your thoughts with us. You can track 500 profiles for free... forever!
Dalal AlRayes
From the site: "After careful consideration, Threads will be discontinued on December 31, 2016. Effective immediately, Threads is no longer accepting new sign ups."
Hadi Farnoud
this can totally replace what we use @intercom for
Andrew Smith
@hadifarnoud Awesome. Let us know if you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of our team.
Florin Muresan
the pricing is useful only for premium users of your app. If you have a freemium with 100,000 users this becomes amazingly expensive
Andrew Smith
@florin_muresan Great feedback. Let us know if you'd be interested in setting up a call to discuss.
