how us this different from decentraweb? not trying to poke holes, Im trying to gauge relevance in numerous domain name crypto projects in prep gor decentralized social media and relaunching a forum that I founded/ran from 2004-2014

- It’s a standalone blockchain optimized to do this at scale. You can run a Handshake light client on your phone to self-verify domains with no trade off in DNS lookup speeds.
- Anyone can self-custody their own domain and self-sign their own ssl certificates, removing the need for third party Certificate Authorities.
- And it’s backwards compatible with traditional DNS, meaning you can use tools like Vercel web hosting, DNSimple nameservers, or Namecheap registrar.
The Shake is surely making enhancements to Web3 developement and setting up milestones in terms of building web3 with a lot of userful information.
