We have been interested in experimenting with the Harberger Tax since reading Radical Markets last year, and the days of the Calendar are a perfect example of a finite resource on which to try the tax. Under The Harberger Tax, every day is always on sale for a price set by the owner. To ensure the owner doesn't set an absurdly high price, the owner pays a tax on the price they choose. The idea that "property is monopoly" is really fascinating - and has us questioning the fundamental way we think about ownership. We imagine a future where the Harberger Tax is applied to land and other assets, and believe that world would be a better place.
