Partnerships can be tough. Jon Wee and Owen Morse have been business partners for over 28 years, and regularly throw sharp objects at each other. They once also hit Johnny Carson in the face with a bowling ball.
Anger issues, you might think? Actually, they couldn’t be happier guys! Jon and Owen are world famous jugglers known as The Passing Zone, and they have figured out how teamwork, embracing strengths and delegation in your workplace can lead to massive success and longevity.
Their first national television appearance in September 1990 was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny enjoyed them so much they were asked back less than a year later. Jon and Owen also doubled for Gomez (Raul Julia) and Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) in the climactic “Mamushka” dagger-passing scene of The Addams Family Movie.
They hold four Guinness World Records, 18 Gold Medals from the International Juggler’s Association, and are in the Jugglers Hall Of Fame. But it may be their comedic abilities that have really defined their career. Jon and Owen were featured twice on the gala stage at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and have opened for such stars as Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Bob Newhart, Bob Hope, and Penn & Teller.
In this episode of the Profit Ability Show, they discuss how they discovered the lucrative corporate market, doing entertainment and keynote speaking at business events, where not only do they entertain, but they customize their performances by juggling a company’s product, incorporating their slogans, and inspiring groups to perform as a team, with excellence and creativity. In addition, they have been inducted into the National Speakers Association’s Speaker Hall of Fame.
