Windows 10 Ubuntu bash — Upgraded to 16.04 Xenial

Make sure you have Windows 10 updated with Windows Creator Update, then install Ubuntu bash and you will now get Xenial 16.04 instead of Trusty 14.04 . Also, you can now run Windows programs from the bash. For example, try running "notepad.exe"
