Hey everyone!
You might have this question, “Is The Breakfast launched in my city?” Well, we launch new cities whenever a city reaches 151 local profiles. And today, the app is launched in New York, Lisbon, Berlin, Kyiv, and London.
We have Paris, Tbilisi, Warsaw, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Barcelona, and Los Angeles coming really soon. Download the app and fill out a profile to see your city’s status.

This is great. Having used the classic breakfast in Kyiv and London I’m excited to see new advancements in the community matching. This is true that sometimes one feels adventurous yet conservative some other days due to life situations and mood changes.
On top of that it’s nice to see me as a human to have a little control of the “algo” vs fully auto. Upvote!

hey Team, I signed up and tried it out. couple of feedbacks.
1. Give a free trial.
2. A couple of no-shows, no-responses, it's an issue when the wait is so long for matching.
3. Allow for refund at this stage as the app is broken for me, crashes on launch since yesterday.

I guess you are on Android, is that correct? We released Android a couple of weeks ago, so some issues may occur, I'm sorry for that, and thank you for bringing this up!
We don't offer a free trial as this completely changes the dynamics within the community. But we do have a weekly subscription plan to give The Breakfast a try.
I hear what you say on no-responses, but generally, you can get 15-20-25 chances per month and we don't expect every one of them to end up as breakfast — that would be just over the top. If you go out with someone new once a week — it's a decent result.
Can you please reach out to the support chat on the app or to support@thebreakfast.app so we can check on your chances and the device you are experiencing crashes on.
And of course, refunds are available. We'll just need you to reach out so we can investigate your particular case and send you the instructions.

Fantastic app and idea - well polished and easy to use! I love meeting new people in Lisbon and this is a great way to match with interesting individuals.

Congratulations on the launch! I know it takes a lot of hard work to build and grow a highly creative and committed community, so kudos to you and the team!
I've been using the app for a couple of years now, and I have to say that the matching algorithm is impressive. It's so cool that I can decide whether to explore wide or deep when looking for like-minded individuals.
The more people that try out this app, the more creative and fulfilling the world becomes. Keep up the great work!

I love the idea of using algorithms to find new connections over breakfast. It's interesting that you offer the option to find someone similar or diverse. Can you share any insights on the different experiences users have had when choosing one option over the other?
@tjerkienator Great question! We've just launched the UI for BRIOCHE, so I don't have the exact data to answer. What we do know is that people have two very distinct scenarios when using The Breakfast:
1. They are either looking for someone with a common interest and a similar situation in life;
2. Or they are looking for new experiences that would bring them out of their professional routines and social bubbles.
But the overall experience is the same: two people arrange a time and place, meet and talk over breakfast — to have an inspiring morning, learn something new and get to know a new person.
I didn't know the breakfast experience could be improved so much, but you really accomplished it! Congrats on the launch!
I love this idea. I personally got too tired of the over-saturated market for dating apps. I am not looking for a date, but I enjoy meeting new people for conversations!
Congrats on the launch, girls! I just downloaded the app and signed up. Gotta say the design is super cool, and the whole registration process was smooth. Although, I hit a bug while picking my traits and had to restart the app.
So, I selected my native language as the app suggested, but I also wanna select English. I wanna meet some cool native English speakers for breakfast. Is there a way to do that in the app that I missed?

By now, you can only choose languages you feel comfortable having a conversation in. And you'll need to have at least one common language with another person to let the app introduce you to each other.
