@twmargot Textsniper allows quickly convert uncopiable or unselectable text from any content visible on your mac's screen into editable text copied to your clipboard. For example when you're watching some video tutorial, you can easily capture any useful information in this video without retyping.

@rish154 Good question. Ones I was watching dev conference on YouTube, presenter shared some GitHub repository link to the viewers. The link was on the screen. So I had to pause the video and type it manually into the browser. You know, it takes a lot of time and could have some typos. Then I thought how cool it would be if I could just select some area on the screen with text and convert it to the editable text copied to clipboard That how I started to develop TextSniper.

The best $5 I ever spent. It's now $8, but still worth it. I have TONS of ideas for v2. If you sit on video conference calls with slides being shared, this is a dream for capturing information you can use in your daily duties.

@th_nguy_n4 Thank you for your question. Currently, TextSniper fully supports the English language. Some Latin languages could have issues with accented character recognition. We are considering to add more languages.

I'm concerned about the privacy. Does this send to an online API or OCR only locally?

@jeffrey2 I should update my privacy. Its processing text recognition locally. You can turn off Wi-Fi and the app will be still usable. Thanks for asking.
