@gabriel__lewis @chrismessina Open but completely secure, I can get used to this.
I still don't get why so much of these kind of apps exist. I use Messenger, Slack and WhatsApp everyday and they are actively working on them. Why would I need Peach/Telegram/whatever?
@_yannbertrand Telegram is based on the promise of free, secure communication and is funded as such. They do not need to make a profit, they are not beholden to shareholders. Simple as that.
@andreasduess Don't they have developers and servers that they need to pay for? I thought WhatsApp was free & safe already (I may be wrong).
@_yannbertrand @andreasduess Telegram was advertising encrypted chat since day one. Last year there was a Whatsapp leak, so people concerned by their privacy moved away to Telegram. Same thing happened when Whatsapp was down for a day in Brazil few months ago.

WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, which doesn't make me feel good about their long-term viability as an independent messaging service.

@jacksitt my guess: create a bot widget that can be embedded in any app. Most apps have FBSDK in place...
Telegram is a incredible product, much better than Whatsapp. This bot will make things easier.
