This looks so slick. Might actually replace the little To-Do box on my Momentum new tab screen (it's just too small to create lengthy or complex lists). One note: Themes are dope, but the background images are tiled on large monitors (instead of stretching to fill the screen). Kind of ruins the whole aesthetic. Maybe just set those to stretch instead of tile?
Johnny Hill
(On further inspection, just looks like a CSS error β€” you're declaring the correct background-size and -position on the .bg class, but those rules are getting overridden by the specific style that sets the background image. Use "background-image: url();" instead of "background: url()" and it won't override the other background properties!)

@thejohnnyhill Hi Johnny, great catch. We have a fix in and it should be deployed later today!
John Xie
@thejohnnyhill Thanks! We are looking at ways to improve the Chrome Extension, such as when opening a new tab, resuming into your most recent list. If you have any suggestions do let us know! https://chrome.google.com/websto...

@thejohnnyhill This should be resolved, please clear your cache and try!

The best todo list app out there, really nice UI! It is very flexible - it can be used as a vertical Kanban, weekly planner, simple todo list, bullet journal or even for note taking! It can even be used for collaboration with a built in chat. TRY IT 😻

Pros:

Nice UI, FLEXIBLE!, collaboration tools

Cons:

None that I can think of, would be cool if the Android version had a widget though :)

Wow really @booligoosh ? You're cheating on Notion? πŸ˜€

Hi everyone! We're super excited to launch Taskade here on PH. I hope you find it fun and useful for organizing your ideas, goals, and daily tasks. We set out to create a natural and frictionless experience for making to-do lists without the unnecessary clutter, and this is our first iteration. Let us know what you think, we’re here to answer questions all day. Thanks ^_^ PS: Here are some ways we use Taskade Weekly Tasks: https://www.taskade.com/v/Hyfp7Z... @johnxie @mentions seem to be turned into links, but they don't work. Plans for them?
John Xie
@stoweboyd Great catch and yes! We have plans to support @mentions and #hashtags in the near future for users that sign up and want to collaborate together. Right URLs are automatically linkified as you type.

Considering task list apps have been bloated, slow, and paywalled since the 2000s, this meme is appropriate:

Great job! Love the minimalist look. Although I'd argue the formatting shortcuts are a little bit overkill on a todolist, unless your users start using it for note-taking which doesn't seem like the intended purpose. I like the link that pops out which allows you to share the list, however it seems only evident about the use of the app that a user could have until after they start filling out the list and that popover appears. Not sure if real-time collab is a possibility but I could see a possible niche where you promote it as a quick todo-list for teams or meetings, where everybody gets a link and you can collaborate on what tasks each-other needs to do, then keep that link in future meetings so it serves as a reference point for "Agenda tasks". Just a thought :p
John Xie
@codymclain Thanks for the suggestions Cody, we'll keep them in mind. Real-time collab is definitely something we want to work on in the near future.

Wow! Just started using this after hearing Wunderlist is going down. Simply the best "To Do" web app out there. No BS -just straightforward, easy to use and I love the collaborative element of being able to share. Love the keyboard shortcuts. Love it! Good work guys! Any chance you're developing a mobile app for this too?

Like new products where you don't need to read and look at "feature" list or "How it work"! Nice & clean

The actual app is nice and intuitive but the lack of an in-depth home page turned me off big time. There's no reason for anyone to be forced to sign up for something before learning what it is (and isn't). Since it's another app in a very crowded market, I believe it's very important to do so. Am I missing something or is the only introduction the images on PH, Chrome Store and Mozilla?

Really nice app to handle collaboration on notes within small and medium teams πŸ‘

Pros:

user-friendly, collaborative and works smoothly

Cons:

limited editing, looking forward to seeing e.g. the option to create tables

Matt Pliszka
Nice app to share and collaborate on notes, I've recently come across Slite which seems to be of the similar concept. Looking forward to seeing the option to create tables :)

I think I'm gonna ask them if I can become an ambassador of Taskade. I'm a huge fan of this to-do list app and I tried at least a thousand one. I was using a Bullet Journal but I get bored because I have to design new stuff by myself. Then I discover Taskade a cool to-do list with templates, that way I can recreate a bullet journal online, but also do a to-do list for work than I can share with my coworkers or another for my family and so on. I'm using Taskade for my personal and professional usage, I shared a to-do list with my redactor, that way, they can have our publication planning everywhere with them and know what they have to do. So yeah, I really recommend Taskade for personal but also for professional usage because it's a great tool with few defaults.

Pros:

Nice UI, Sharable to-do list, customizable interface with a lot of templates for every usage, nice to-do list

Cons:

The major con is that we can't move tasks between list

Marc

It works on any OS (mobile not yet, but it seems to be coming soon). That's a huge plus and a must-have feature for a app to plan tasks. Here on ProductHunt are many other to-do apps that only work on one platform which is totally unusable. Great to see this one doing it right πŸ‘

Pros:

Simple but powerful, Cross-platform

Cons:

Haven't found any yet

Gaurabh Mathure

I'm always in pursuit of a good companion note-taking, ideation productivity app. I've tried everything from Asana, to Monday, to Coda and everything always seems to complex or too expensive. Taskade has a great combination of good features, simplicity and a great pricing model.

Pros:

Love the ability to switch views, especially love the mind map view.

Cons:

Not that much of a con - but would love to see more views over time.

Alexander Shevchenko

Just started using, really like the simplicity and the look

Hope it won't be overloaded with features (except for critical ones, like moving tasks between lists)

Pros:

Simplicity, elegance

Cons:

Can't move tasks between lists

Michael Yom
Simple and elegant. Would be nice to see an option to have lists open by default rather than clicking into them individually! Particularly when you only have 1 list.
Sam Anderson
Woo! Congrats on the launch John! Can't wait to use this in my workflow.
Jeremy Blaze
Such a great idea and super well executed. Will definitely be putting this to good use πŸ‘πŸ‘
John Xie
@gabrielmachuret Thank you! Did you get to try the theme selector at the bottom left corner?
Roberto Nickson
Awesome! Beautiful & light-weight to-do lists. Can't wait to see this product evolve.
