Hey PH fam 👋 (or PHam perhaps?) I'm Iba, co-founder, CEO of Tara AI. Grateful to @katmanalac for hunting us! Over a year ago, we launched Tara AI to product hunt, with the intention of helping teams 'git ship done'. We felt that there has to be a better way to collaborate on software projects, that work happens in source control and the best project management software should minimize manual data entry. We asked ourselves, could a ticketless future be possible for engineering teams? Could we build the fastest project management software on the web, designed for the distributed, product-led era? And so today, we're announcing a host of new features to help your growing teams. Tara AI 2.0 delivers a new design optimized for creation, instant loads, automated workflows and powerful integrations- including our new API. As always, our free plan is still free for unlimited users, with upgrades available to premium or co-pilot plans. Here's what's new in Tara 2.0: - A new lightning fast interface, optimized for creation. - Performance - access tasks, requirements & sprints instantly. - Automation - linked tasks will automatically update statuses based on Git events. - Smart sprinting - ship with auto-sprinting and effort indicators to understand your team's capacity. - Progress - view your team's progress with live pull-request and commit statuses from Github or Gitlab. - Our new restful API - send, retrieve, and edit task and requirement data to build custom integrations. - Define - easily outline and delegate work with a cohesive view of all your projects. - The work drawer - bringing even more visibility and organization to your sprint planning. - @ Mentions - collaborate on specs or requirements with your team. - Labels - categorize your work by task type, status, or priority - Requirements for teams - improve team clarity by dividing and managing requirements. - Slack app - add, edit, and preview tasks, directly from Slack. - Task details panel - view task details with an unobstructed view of the week's work. - Premium & co-pilot workspaces - new workspace plans are available to support larger teams. We've been using Tara at Placenote for about a year now and I'm excited to see how fast the platform has progressed to become a fully featured project management tool. We enjoy the simplicity of the sprint planning tools and have grown to love the git automations. It's made it so much easier to sync our work that we've actually started referring to projects by their Tara task IDs!

@neilxm Cool username. I can hear music just typing it. Thanks a ton for your support Neil, it's truly been amazing to see how the Dabble community is growing. And yesss on the Task ID piece- we just had the same thing happen internally. We could also create a quick button to initiate a slack channel on a task (with the ID name) to start convos around the tasks.

@ibamasood that's interesting. a separate channel for a task ID might not make sense for us although @pj_mukh can shed some light here. What I think could help a lot is making it easier to consistently link TaskIDs with git commits. Right now I have to go back to Tara to check the TaskID prior to committing and this leads to inconsistencies in usage. Perhaps a CLI tool that lets me pull up a list of tasks in the current sprint (or just assigned to me) directly in my terminal prior to committing a new branch might help.

@pj_mukh @neilxm We're thinking a chrome plugin that shows all tasks and allows for quick viewing of task IDs as you're inside Github. We're still thinking about how the UI would look, but the idea is to reduce the "switching" between Github and Tara.

@pj_mukh @neilxm its definitely on the roadmap, we're working on putting something together that would work with Vscode using our new API. The challenges with a CLI based client is you would have to do some level of configuration with a client library we would provide.

We've been using Tara for almost a year now! We have not stuck with a sprint manager for this long! Hah! We went from Jira, to Trello to just boards on Notion and finally stuck on Tara. Tara's home page is now my daily morning homepage, with all my tickets in one place, which has been a sweet productivity hack.
